  • Interpret and apply contracts, task orders, amendments, and fee schedules to ensure billing accuracy and compliance
  • Set up and maintain projects in the accounting system based on contractual terms and billing structures
  • Monitor project budgets and contract balances to support accurate invoicing
  • Perform monthly reconciliations and resolve discrepancies proactively
  • Partner closely with internal stakeholders to address billing questions, contract details, and client inquiries
  • Prepare ad hoc billing reports and assist with financial analysis as needed
  • Review and enter project-related expenses and billing data on a regular basis
  • Support accounts receivable and collections efforts by providing documentation and resolving invoice questions
  • Maintain audit-ready records in alignment with public agency requirements
  • Identify and implement opportunities to improve billing processes and internal controls
  • Provide guidance and support to junior billing team members
What We're Looking For
  • 5+ years of project billing experience in a high-volume, contract-driven environment
  • Strong experience working with public-sector contracts and compliance requirements
  • Proven ability to manage high-volume, deadline-driven billing cycles
  • Experience supporting transportation or infrastructure-related projects (preferred)
  • Familiarity with New Jersey public agencies (NJDOT, NJTPA, counties such as Monmouth/Middlesex strongly preferred)
  • Experience with Deltek VantagePoint is a major plus
  • Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred
  • Exceptional attention to detail, organization, and problem-solving skills
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate across departments
  • Ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities
Why This Opportunity Stands Out
  • Competitive compensation with a clear path to permanent hire
  • Opportunity to work on large-scale, high-impact projects
