What does a temporary benefits enroller do?

A Temporary Benefits Enroller is responsible for helping employees understand, select, and enroll in company-sponsored benefit programs such as health, dental, vision, and retirement plans. They typically work during open enrollment periods or when a company is onboarding a large group of new hires. Their duties include explaining benefit options, answering employee questions, processing enrollment forms, and ensuring compliance with company policies and legal regulations. This role is usually short-term and requires strong communication and organizational skills.

What skills and qualifications are needed to be a temporary benefits enroller?

To thrive as a Temporary Benefits Enroller, you need a solid understanding of employee benefits programs, attention to detail, and typically a high school diploma or equivalent. Familiarity with benefits administration software, online enrollment systems, and Microsoft Office Suite is often required. Outstanding interpersonal skills, clear communication, and the ability to quickly build rapport help enrollers effectively guide employees through complex choices.
