Job description

Are you ready to take pride in your work? Cass County, North Dakota is searching for a dedicated full-time Temporary Automotive Shop and Grounds Laborer to join our team in West Fargo, ND.

THE BASICS

Pay: You'll earn $22.87 per hour in this full-time role, where your hard work will make a visible difference every day.

Schedule: This is a full-time, temporary position located in West Fargo, ND. Your schedule will be determined by the needs of the highway department and may include tasks both indoors and outdoors throughout the week.

YOUR DAY AS A TEMPORARY AUTOMOTIVE SHOP AND GROUNDS LABORER

Each day, you will arrive ready to maintain the Cass County Highway Department's grounds and facilities to the highest standards. You will spend your time mowing and edging the expansive lawns, irrigating the grounds, fertilizing, and using chemical weed control to keep the landscape healthy. You will inspect the grounds daily for trash, weed flower beds, and sweep sidewalks and parking lots to keep everything looking sharp. Touchup painting and other related grounds activities will keep your days varied and active. Inside the shop, you will clean shop spaces and vehicles, inspect and clean the County Admin vehicle, pick up parts from local vendors, and perform maintenance on vehicles and shop equipment as directed. You will operate a variety of equipment, maintain high standards of cleanliness, and take pride in the appearance and functionality of the county's property.

REQUIREMENTS FOR A TEMPORARY AUTOMOTIVE SHOP AND GROUNDS LABORER

  • Valid driver's license
  • 6+ months of experience in lawn and grounds maintenance activities
  • Ability to operate various lawn and grounds maintenance equipment
  • Ability to operate a hot water power washer
  • Comfortable with manual cleaning and maintenance tasks
  • Capable of prolonged standing, lifting up to 70 pounds, frequent bending, stooping, and stretching
  • Class A driver's license and related experience (a plus)
