BlackFish Federal

Fort George G Meade, MD • On-site

Full-time

Re-posted 5 days ago

Job description

Position Summary

The Records Analyst will support DISA's Records and Information Management (RIM) program at Fort Meade, Maryland. Working under the direction of the Senior Records Manager, this individual performs the day-to-day analytical and operational work of the records management program -- supporting records inventories, disposition activities, compliance documentation, and the agency's ongoing transition to a fully electronic records environment.

The Records Analyst applies solid working knowledge of federal records and information management practices to execute file plans, maintain records repositories, and assist with the modernization of records disposition schedules for both physical and electronic records. This role directly supports compliance with National Archives regulations and DoD records management policy through accurate documentation, tracking, and reporting.

Operating in a secure, mission-critical environment, the successful candidate combines analytical attention to detail with reliable execution -- supporting SOP development, records processing, training delivery, and program assessments while ensuring quality and timeliness across all assigned tasks.

This is a full-time, on-site position based at DISA Headquarters, Fort Meade, Maryland, with occasional travel to NARA Archives II in College Park, Maryland. An active Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility and U.S. citizenship are required.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the Senior Records Manager in executing the day-to-day activities of the DISA Records and Information Management (RIM) program.
  • Conduct records inventories and assist in identifying and categorizing agency records across all formats (paper, electronic, email, social media).
  • Assist in developing and updating records disposition schedules and file plans in compliance with NARA regulations.
  • Support the setup, monitoring, and maintenance of records management repositories and libraries within SharePoint Online (SPO) sites.
  • Assist in the transfer of eligible records to records centers, disposal of temporary records, and transfer of permanent records to NARA, including SF-135 processing in ARCIS and scheduling/disposal within the Electronic Records Archive.
  • Assist in scanning and labeling paper records into electronic format for disposition to NARA, applying appropriate metadata tagging.
  • Contribute to the development of records management SOPs, agency tip sheets, and the records management agency manual.
  • Monitor and respond to inquiries in the records management mailbox and support onboarding/off-boarding records processes.
  • Prepare reports, track actions, take meeting minutes, and support RIM training and program assessments.
Required Qualifications
  • Clearance: Active Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility (favorably adjudicated Tier 5); U.S. citizen.
  • Demonstrated experience supporting federal records and information management (RIM) programs.
  • Working knowledge of NARA regulations, records disposition schedules, and file plan development.
  • Experience with electronic recordkeeping, including scanning, metadata tagging, and records repository maintenance.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and SharePoint.
Preferred Qualifications
  • At least 5 years' prior experience supporting DISA, NARA, or a comparable federal records management program.
  • Familiarity with NARA ERA/ARCIS and SF-135 processing.
  • Experience supporting compliance audits, records assessments, or disposition activities.
  • Records management coursework or certification (e.g., NARA records management training).
Education
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Management, Business Administration, Public Administration, or a related field (advanced degree or equivalent experience substitutions may apply).
