We are looking for people who want to join a great team! We have an immediate opening for a Purchasing Agent.


2-3 months assignment. The Temporary Purchasing Agent is responsible for being the analyzer, negotiator, and dealmaker for component parts that Harmar needs to build its products. The person in this position will do the following tasks:

( ** this is not a management position. )


  • Negotiate price, quality, and delivery with numerous local and international vendors.
  • Place purchase orders with domestic and/or international vendors, taking into account necessary conditions for cost, quality, and delivery (lead times).
  • Expedite deliveries when necessary, and/or resolve shortages.
  • Measure vendor performance based on delivery and quality.
  • Return substandard parts for credit.
  • Help plant maintain accurate inventory levels to ensure production as needed parts.
  • Assist with production scheduling forecasting
  • Other duties as deemed necessary by the organization.

Requirements

  • 3-5 years prior work experience in procurement or purchasing preferably within manufacturing industry.
  • Demonstrates strong professional Procurement competencies, including integrity, accountability, communication skills and commitment to teamwork.
  • Familiarity with sourcing and supplier management.
  • Strong computer skills
  • Experience with inventory management & production scheduling forecasting.
  • Ability to negotiate and sustain networking relationships.
  • Experience in collecting, analyzing and interpreting data.
  • Solid judgement with ability to make good decisions.
