Our established and growing technology solutions client is seeking a motivated and customer-focused Network Engineer to join its technical support and infrastructure team. This is an excellent opportunity for an early-career IT professional looking to gain hands-on experience across networking, security, customer support, and project implementation in a fast-paced environment.
This role combines both day-to-day technical support and project-based engineering work, offering exposure to a wide variety of technologies and client environments.
Position Overview
The Network Engineer will support client network environments through installation, configuration, troubleshooting, monitoring, and maintenance of network infrastructure and security systems. The ideal candidate is technically curious, service-oriented, and eager to continue growing their networking and systems expertise.
This position reports directly to company leadership and offers significant opportunities for learning, mentorship, and professional development.
Key Responsibilities
Network Support & Administration
  • Configure, install, maintain, and troubleshoot:
    • Firewalls
    • Routers
    • Switches
    • Wireless access points
    • Network infrastructure components
  • Support both remote and on-site customer environments
  • Assist with implementation and maintenance of LAN/WAN and TCP/IP network environments
  • Diagnose network issues and implement corrective actions to restore functionality and optimize performance
  • Support VPN, DNS, DHCP, and network monitoring solutions

Infrastructure & Security
  • Assist with firewall administration and security best practices
  • Monitor network performance and alerts to proactively identify issues
  • Support information security initiatives and network protection measures
  • Participate in infrastructure upgrades, deployments, and client projects

Customer Support & Documentation
  • Deliver exceptional customer service while supporting client technical needs
  • Communicate technical information clearly to both technical and non-technical users
  • Maintain accurate documentation for customer environments, service work, and completed tasks
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure timely issue resolution and project completion

Preferred Technical Experience
Experience or exposure in the following areas is highly desirable:
Networking & Infrastructure
  • Cisco and/or Juniper switching environments
  • Sophos, SonicWall, and/or Juniper firewalls
  • Wireless networking and Wi-Fi deployments
  • Routing protocols such as:
    • BGP
    • OSPF
  • Network topology and infrastructure concepts

Additional Preferred Skills
  • Network monitoring and alerting tools
  • VOIP systems and solutions
  • Network design concepts
  • Cybersecurity best practices and security awareness
