Aerotek is hiring a FLAT roof Solar Laborer!

WEEKLY PAY $22-$25/HR depending on experience

Job Description

This temporary solar laborer position supports a 6–8 week commercial rooftop project involving the decommissioning and reinstallation of solar panels. You will work on flat roofs, assisting with the safe removal and reinstallation of solar equipment while following strict safety protocols. The schedule runs Monday through Friday with full-time hours, and there may be opportunities to travel to additional project sites in other cities.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with phase 1 decommissioning of rooftop solar panels, including the careful removal of panels and related equipment according to project plans and safety standards.
  • Support phase 2 reinstallation of solar panels, helping to position, secure, and assemble panels and components on flat commercial roofs.
  • Handle, move, and stage solar panels, tools, and materials safely and efficiently on the rooftop work area.
  • Follow all site safety procedures, including the proper use of steel-toe boots, hard hat, safety goggles, gloves, and high-visibility vest.
  • Work outdoors in varying weather conditions while maintaining focus on safety, quality, and productivity.
  • Collaborate closely with the solar installation crew and follow directions from site leadership to meet project timelines and quality expectations.
  • Perform basic construction and electrical-related tasks as directed, within the scope of a laborer role, to support commercial solar installation work.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and hazard-free work area on the roof and at ground level.
  • Communicate openly about willingness and availability to travel, as the crew may be assigned to additional projects in other locations such as Cumberland, MD and Conshohocken, PA.

  • Ability to work comfortably and safely at heights on flat commercial roofs.
  • Willingness to work outdoors in weather-dependent conditions.
  • Capability to perform physically demanding labor, including lifting, carrying, and moving solar panels and materials.

  • Reliability to work full-time hours Monday through Friday as scheduled.
