Job Title: Procurement Analyst
Job Description
As a Procurement Analyst within an automotive service parts organization, you play a critical role in the service parts supply chain by safeguarding cost integrity and maximizing profitability. You manage and analyze large volumes of data from multiple platforms and tools, combining technical manufacturing knowledge with strong financial acumen to support low-volume automotive service environments. In this role, you act as a consultant to internal purchasing teams and external suppliers, providing clear, data-driven justification for cost adjustments in a dynamic global market.
Responsibilities
  • Evaluate and validate automotive supplier part pricing, tooling, packaging, and contract requests, with a specific focus on low-volume service requirements.
  • Perform detailed cost analysis and cost breakdowns to ensure cost integrity and support profitability goals.
  • Analyze large, complex, and sometimes incomplete data sets to identify trends, establish facts, and draw actionable conclusions.
  • Use data analytics tools to develop insights and provide recommendations and solutions based on data findings.
  • Present and defend cost changes to internal stakeholders, including purchasing teams, ensuring alignment with financial and operational objectives.
  • Communicate and negotiate cost changes with external suppliers, maintaining transparency and supporting mutually beneficial outcomes.
  • Data mine public market indices such as steel, plastic, and labor indices to anticipate market shifts and assess their impact on the supply base.
  • Support procurement activities by providing analytical insights that inform sourcing strategies and supplier negotiations.
  • Leverage advanced Excel and other data IT tools to build, maintain, and improve models, reports, and dashboards for procurement and cost analysis.
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams within the service parts organization to ensure accurate, timely, and reliable data is used in decision-making.
  • Act as a trusted consultant to purchasing and supply chain stakeholders, explaining complex cost structures and market dynamics in a clear and concise manner.
  • Continuously refine analytical methods and processes to improve efficiency, accuracy, and the quality of insights delivered.

Essential Skills
  • 2-5 years of experience in procurement analysis, cost analysis, or data analysis.
  • 2-5 years of experience analyzing data and providing recommendations or solutions based on findings.
  • Completed bachelor's degree in a related field.
  • Strong background in pricing, estimation, finance, and cost analysis.
  • Proficiency in procurement and procurement analytics within a supply chain or manufacturing environment.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including complex formulas, data manipulation, and reporting.
  • Experience with data IT tools and data analysis techniques.
  • Ability to work with large, complex, and sometimes incomplete data sets to derive meaningful insights.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Effective communication skills, with the ability to present and defend cost changes to stakeholders with competing priorities.
  • Motivated, self-starter mindset with long-term career aspirations and a desire for growth in a structured career path.

Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Experience with SAP or similar enterprise resource planning systems.
  • Automotive cost analysis experience, particularly in low-volume service parts environments.
  • background in data analytics tools such as Power BI or similar visualization platforms.
  • Experience as a data analyst supporting finance, procurement, or supply chain functions.
  • Ability to interpret and use public market indices (e.g., steel, plastic, labor indices) in cost and procurement decisions.
