Job description

Description:

The Grounds Crew Member assists in the maintenance of the Flint Cultural Center Campus grounds and grounds equipment. This includes lawn mowing, planting, and trimming in the spring; snow removal and parking lot maintenance in the winter.

Requirements:

Responsibilities

· Assists in the care and maintenance of the Flint Cultural Center Campus

· Follows through on instructions and work schedule provided by supervisor to achieve desired level of maintenance

· Performs routine maintenance on grounds care equipment

· Assists in the procurement of supplies, tools and repair parts for equipment, as needed

· Assists in maintaining traffic flow and re-routing, as needed during campus-wide events

· Works in inclement weather and on call during the winter months

· Maintains regular and prompt attendance at work

· Displays professional and respectful behavior to all persons in the workplace

· Follows organizational policies and procedures


Education/Qualifications/Skills Required

· High School Diploma or Equivalent preferred

· 1 year grounds/turf/landscape experience preferred

· 1 year mechanical experience for equipment repair preferred

· 1 year customer service experience preferred

· 1 year snow removal experience preferred

· Ability to safely use grounds equipment and perform all work according to safety standards.

· Ability to work without direct supervision

· Valid Michigan Driver’s License for driving of company vehicles

· Ability to lift up to 50lbs

· Ability to move about frequently and for long periods of time while operating trimmers, blowers, and other landscaping tools

· Ability to focus while operating equipment for extended periods of time

· Ability to maintain continual alertness to auto and pedestrian traffic

· Ability to work in all outdoor weather conditions


This is a part-time (20-29 hours per week) position Monday-Thursday 7:00AM-3:00PM. This position is on call evenings and weekends for snow removal.
