Description:
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Temp Associate to support our Intellectual Property team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of patent law and intellectual property principles, with experience in patent prosecution and related activities. This role requires excellent communication and writing skills, along with the ability to conduct thorough research and analysis. The Temp Associate will contribute to various aspects of intellectual property management, including advising on IP strategy and assisting with patent applications.
Responsibilities:
  • Assist with the preparation and filing of patent applications, including drafting and reviewing documents.
  • Conduct prior art searches and analyze patentability, leveraging research skills.
  • Support the team in due diligence activities related to intellectual property assets.
  • Assist in the management of patent portfolios, including tracking deadlines and maintaining records.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of intellectual property strategies.
  • Communicate effectively with internal stakeholders and external counsel.
  • Assist with Freedom to Operate analysis and assessments.
  • Support the team in matters related to patent infringement and lawsuits.
  • Contribute to the analysis of trademarks and related intellectual property matters.
  • Assist with business development initiatives related to intellectual property.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Working knowledge of patent law and intellectual property principles.
  • General knowledge of patent prosecution procedures.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong research and analytical abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Familiarity with intellectual property databases and search tools.
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as Biotechnology, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, or Chemistry.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
  • General knowledge of the patent application process.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with due diligence related to intellectual property.
  • Familiarity with Freedom to Operate analysis.
  • Experience with patent infringement analysis.
  • Experience with advising on intellectual property strategy.
  • Experience with Interpersonal Communications.
  • State Bar Membership.
  • Experience with Life Sciences.
