Primary Job Duties

This is a temporary part-time position.

Ramp Agents are responsible for processing baggage between baggage areas in airport facilities and aircraft, as well as receiving and dispatching aircraft.  

  • Loading and unloading aircraft and carts
  • Stacking and unstacking baggage in aircraft
  • Completing safety checklists for motorized equipment
  • Drive and operate motorized equipment (e.g., conveyor belts)
  • Read and interpret aircraft load sheets and checked baggage tags
  • Escort passengers and customers with special-needs safely and courteously
  • Ensure compliance with SkyWest and Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) regulations and policies

Minimum Requirements

We are looking for individuals excited to take on new challenges, especially within the airline industry! SkyWest Ramp Agents come from a wide range of backgrounds, education, interests, and experience. To apply, you only have to meet the following criteria:

  • 18 years old or older
  • Have a High School Diploma or GED
  • Possess a valid, unrestricted state-issued driver’s license
  • Obtain position-specific clearances include but are not limited to FAA, TSA, Port Authority, and U.S. Customs clearances
  • Pass a pre-placement background check and drug screen
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States for any employer without sponsorship

Physical and Other Requirements
  • Lift heavy bags over 50+ pounds, with or without reasonable accommodation
  • Work outdoors in all temperatures and weather conditions
  • Attend four days of Basic Station Training
  • Work mornings, nights, weekends, and holidays
  • This position requires a flexible schedule, including split shifts that may occur during early mornings, afternoons, evenings, weekends, and holidays

  • This is a part-time position, starting at $19 per hour
  • New hire training will be 10 to 14 days, five days a week, for five hours a day
    • Following the completion of training, employees will transition to normal part-time hours
  • This is not a Department of Transportation safety-sensitive position
