Job description

Information Systems Solutions (ISS) is seeking a Telecommunications/Network Infrastructure Engineer with strong expertise in physical network infrastructure and enterprise networking across Layers 1-4.
This role is 100% onsite.
Specific duties include, but are not limited to the following:
Core Responsibilities
• Design and implement VLAN architectures and network segmentation strategies.
• Configure trunking, spanning tree, and Layer 2 switching technologies.
• Implement IP addressing schemes, subnetting, and Layer 3 routing configurations.
• Troubleshoot across OSI Layers 1-4, correlating physical faults with logical network behavior.
• Configure and support routing protocols, ACLs, QoS, and secure traffic flows.
• Perform network performance analysis and capacity planning aligned with infrastructure growth.

Required Skills:
• 8+ years of enterprise network engineering experience.
• Deep understanding of structured cabling standards (TIA/EIA) and fiber/copper infrastructure.
• Hands-on experience designing and implementing VLAN and Layer 3 routing solutions.
• Proven ability to troubleshoot across physical and logical network layers.
Preferred Qualifications
• Cisco CCNP or higher (or equivalent enterprise certification)
• Experience supporting classified enclaves.
• Cisco CCNP or higher (or equivalent enterprise certification).
• Experience with fiber backbone design and data center buildouts.
• Familiarity with network monitoring and infrastructure documentation platforms.
