Job description

Our Technology Consulting Group is looking for motivated and capable applicants to expand our team.
We are looking for design professionals with specific experience in structured cabling, network infrastructure. Applicants should have a working knowledge of how to create a set of design documents in Revit and AutoCAD, what to look for during a site visit, and how to effectively communicate with clients by phone, email and in person. The day-to-day work will involve applying technical skills and knowledge to create high quality deliverables and will include collaboration with individuals from a variety of backgrounds.

Responsibilities:
  • Design structured cabling systems for buildings, campuses, and tenant spaces. Typical work product is a set of drawings and specifications including a cover sheet, floor plans, riser diagrams, part plans, and details. - Applicants should be able to effectively be able to update specifications to match client needs or standards.
  • Designs must meet local, state, and federal code requirements.
  • Collaboration and coordination with Project managers and other design team members.
  • Efficiently find solutions to design problems and communicates unresolved items for review.
  • Be able to communicate with manufacturers and contractors to address challenges and develop realistic solutions.
  • Provide contract documents that meet required codes and quality assurance standards. - All deliverables are subject to a Quality Assurance and Quality Control review. Applicants must be open to constructive feedback and be willing to ask questions.
  • Attend site visits, out of office client meetings as needed.
  • Proactively expand your skillset with cross training in related disciplines and by attending inhouse or external training.
  • Actively participates in meetings, initiatives, and projects that support Business Center and company goals.
  • Hybrid work schedule, with flexible hours depending on deliverables and project requirements.
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field (engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, etc.)
  • Minimum 7 years of experience, or an equivalent combination of other experience.
  • Strong working knowledge of Building Information Modeling (BIM) software; in particular, Revit MEP and AutoCAD MEP.
  • RCDD or prepping for the RCDD license examination is a plus.
  • Relevant design experience in projects of diverse types and sizes including high rise commercial office, high rise residential, hospitality, health care, educational, data center and outside plant infrastructure.
  • Familiarity with Network, Wireless, Access Control, CCTV, and Audiovisual Design requirements.
  • Ability to prepare detailed design drawings.
  • Ability to integrate design elements with architectural, civil, structural, electrical, mechanical, and other disciplines to deliver a coordinated design.
  • Basic knowledge of applicable codes and standards including ANSI/TIA and BICSI best practices.
  • Ability to demonstrate a credible and trustworthy presence through professionalism and demeanor.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills; ability to prepare and present accurate, professionally written reports and recommendations. Must be able to clearly communicate with team members and clients and clarify if necessary.
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
