At VCI Construction, as a Project Coordinator, you will report to the division Project Manager, work closely with supervisors, and field employees. The ability to multi-task is essential in this position. The ideal candidate for this job is a self-starter, resourceful, good problem solver and organized.

What you'll do
  • Ability to read Telecom system prints or previous experience reading engineering drawings.
  • Reporting production, status of jobs and billing information.
  • Construction Work Face Planning experience preferred.
  • Project Controls 1-3 years of experience working on construction projects is ideal.
  • Detail-oriented and able to perform quality assurance audits on reporting.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills are a MUST.
  • Must be able to work independently to complete deliverables on a daily basis.
  • Expert knowledge of Microsoft Office Programs (Word, Excel) ability to navigate large amounts of data to support contractual reporting requirements quickly through pivot tables, sumifs, v-lookups, etc.
  • Work independently with coworkers, customers, and others in places where interactions are unsupervised
  • Provide accurate and reliable information to others in the company
  • Requires a routine amount of driving for work, which must be performed safely
  • Requires safe and responsible computer and related technology use
  • Other duties as assigned.

What you'll need
  • To be 18 years of age or older
  • Authorization to work in the United States for this company
  • Permit experience required.
  • Possess valid Driver's License.
  • At least 1-3 years relevant experience.
  • Must be able to pass background and drug screen.
  • Good organization, multi-tasking, time management and documentation skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience / knowledge of State, Highway Department & Municipal requirements for Tele-Communications construction permitting processes.
  • Working knowledge of traffic control permitting requirements.
  • Proficient with Microsoft suite. (Word, Excel, etc.)
  • Demonstrate proficiency with Adobe Professional and Microsoft Project.
  • Some knowledge of As Builts.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Ability to build and maintain strong business relationships at all levels.
  • Ability to interact effectively with other team members.
  • Must be able to follow instructions and directions to perform job tasks.
  • Demonstrates a strong capacity to quickly adapt by learning new skills and unlearning outdated ones
  • Construction experience preferred.
  • Permit experience required.

  • Primarily sedentary work involving prolonged periods of sitting and computer use
  • Occasional standing, walking, and light lifting (up to 15 lbs.)
  • Ability to use standard office equipment (computer, phone, etc.)
