Job description

The Music Center Assistant is responsible for facilitating teen music programs at the Germantown Music Center. This includes teaching group music lessons, studio operation and album projects. Building relationships with teens is key to be successful in this role. In addition, the Music Center Assistant is responsible for program attendance, assisting with program planning and behavior management.

CORE EXPECTATIONS:

1. MEMBERSHIP ENGAGEMENT & DEVELOPMENT

Builds relationships with and among members, responds to inquiries and solves problems. Creates a safe and supportive community environment and assists in engaging new members. The Music Center Assistant will assist in the planning of developmentally appropriate music center activities. All music center programs operate in the afternoon and early evening.

2. FACILITY MANAGEMENT

Provide a safe, clean, adequately equipped, well maintained, and attractive facility. Ensure that equipment is well cared for and being utilized in an appropriate manner at all times. Report any program equipment or facility concerns to supervisor in a timely manner.

3. COMMUNITY INVOLVEMENT & SUPPORT

Awareness of YMCA fund raising activities/events, and engages in collaborative relationships with community organizations in order to strengthen support and build community.
