POSITION SUMMARY

Want to genuinely help transform lives? New City Kids employs local teens to lead after-school programming for younger children in their own communities, integrating leadership development, faith formation, learning, and the arts. It truly works! As Teen Life Internship Coordinator, you'll coach 20-30 teen staff members, helping them grow as musically, academically, spiritually, and professionally. You'll work directly with the Teen Programming Director to build systems, cast vision, and see teens step into their potential in Jersey City neighborhoods that need it most. This role offers the rare chance to integrate your Christian faith into holistic, hands-on work with young people and to be part of a team all-in on seeing lives and cities changed. Strong performers are eligible for promotion within 1-2 years.

Budget Support: Work with the Director to ensure spending is documented and that all resources--both funds and staff hours--are used appropriately and efficiently.

Community Coordination: Work with the Director to safeguard the overall culture within the Teen Life Internship staff and liaise with parents and community members. Help foster an environment of learning, Christian discipleship, engagement, and servant-leadership.

Support Music Programming (for musicians only): Facilitate and coach teen music teachers through weekly instruction, curriculum development, and in-class modeling; observe and guide teaching practices to strengthen musicianship, classroom management, and instructional skills; monitor and adapt ASC music class progress to meet learning goals; uphold Music School standards.
