The TECO Energy Internship & Cooperative Education Program offers college degree-seeking students the opportunity for professional growth while meeting the business needs of the company. The program is an extension of the educational process, providing practical experience to complement formal classroom work. The co-op program recruits students from colleges to give them an opportunity to work in a professional environment related to their field of study.
Position Summary/Details:
Tampa Electric is wishing to provide an opportunity for college students or recent graduates the opportunity to explore career options within the field of Transmission Engineering. This includes allowing students to apply academic knowledge, skills, gain career skills, build resumes, and network with emergency management professionals.
Accountabilities: As a successful candidate for our Co/Op Position, you would:

• Design and develop new and existing transmission lines throughout the TECO service area.
• Participate in meetings with internal and external departments/vendors
• Attend trainings related to engineering, safety, and leadership
• Support the TE team when needed

Physical Location of Co-op: TECO Eastern Service Area BLDG A
Preferred Availability: Part - Time (20-40 hours)
WORKING CONDITIONS: Mostly in a normal office environment

Co-Op Requirements:

• The successful applicant should be enrolled in an ABET accredited university or college undergraduate or a graduate level post-secondary educational program in a related discipline.
• A minimum GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale is required.
• To qualify as a co-op student, enrollment in the university's co-op program is a must.
• To qualify for a substation engineering co-op position, the candidate must have successfully completed their junior year at an ABET accredited Institution.

Required Degree: Engineering
Preferred/Related Discipline: Civil, Mechanical, and Electrical Engineering
Year in School: Junior or Senior; Graduate Level Student
