Job description

Title: Sr Dir DCC, Sys Restoration & Reliability 
Company: Tampa Electric Company 
State and City: Florida - LUTZ
Shift: 8 Hr. X 5 Days

The Sr Dir DCC, Sys Restor. & Reliability is a senior level management position reporting to the Vice President, Electric Delivery.  Responsible for directing all related activities and overseeing Electric Delivery operations  resources assigned to the BOC (Bearrs Operations Center). Responsible for service restoration and operation of all distribution facilities owned and/or operated by Tampa Electric Company.  This includes responsibility for Tampa Electric Company's Electric  Delivery emergency preparedness,  mutual assistance and Tampa Electric's response to system disturbances and outages.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Maintain an efficient, highly motivated organization which is committed to fulfilling the mission and achieving the goals of both the department and the company.  Providing leadership for the department on a day-to-day basis by articulating and communicating to all employees, the company position on critical issues.  Assure safe work practices are utilized by all team members.
  2. Direct service restoration for residential, commercial and industrial customers served through Tampa Electric's distribution system on a 24-hour basis through the appropriate dispatch of distribution center operations.
  3. Direct the timely normal and emergency response to system disturbances such as severe storms, overloads, electrical contacts, firm load curtailment, voltage control, and any potential hazards to the public. Ensures appropriate interaction with and notification to Customer Care, the service areas, and top management regarding any such system disturbances.
  4. Coordinating pre-hurricane preparations, immediate system restoration and system clearance after storm passage, and managing maintenance of the unaffected system during post-hurricane restoration efforts. 
  5. Direct the evaluation of the performance of distribution systems. Direct the analysis of outage information, identifying trends and recommend solutions. Responsible for ensuring that all existing legal requirements of the Florida Public Service Commission regarding the documentation and filing of required reliability reports are met.
  6. Direct the following functions: Energy Delivery Emergency Response Planning, relationship with the Emergency Management Community, Energy Delivery Incident Command System Plan, Energy Delivery Mock Storm Exercise, Mutual Assistance Coordination for Tampa Electric.
  7. Provide direction for Energy Delivery maintenance programs, including, but not limited to; distribution wood pole inspection and maintenance, streetlight relamping and padmounted equipment painting.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education:

Required:           Bachlors in Engineering.

Licenses/Certifications

Preferred:          PE license

Experience: 

Required:           10 years experience in engineering, technical and/or operations with operations experience a requirement.

Supervisory Experience

Required:          5 successful supervisory experience.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: 

Required:           Must possess strong leadership skills and must exhibit sound judgement.  Must be an effective communicator and sensitive to Customers needs.  Must be able to work significant overtime and maintain an on-call availability of 100%.
