Nuclear Med Tech

Jackson HealthPros is seeking an experienced nuclear med tech for a permanent role with an area healthcare client in Bozeman, MT. You will work collaboratively with a multi-disciplinary team and be responsible for preparing and administering radioactive drugs and operating radiation detection and imaging equipment in a hospital-based, acute care environment. The role includes general nuclear medicine examinations, therapeutic procedures, PET/CT patient exams, and on-call services.

Minimum Requirements

  • Graduate of an Allied Health Education and Accreditation (CAHEA) accredited program or equivalent.
  • American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) certification in nuclear medicine or Certified Nuclear Medicine Technologist (NMTCB).
  • State license and certification to practice nuclear medicine in Montana.
  • American Heart Association BLS within 60 days of hire.
  • One (1) year post-graduate work experience as a registered Nuclear Medicine Technologist preferred.
  • Experience performing nuclear medicine quality control measures, patient exams, therapeutic procedures, and PET/CT exams in a hospital or acute care setting.
  • Experience with documentation for administration, receipt/return, decay, and disposal of radioactive materials in compliance with state and federal regulations.
  • Ability to participate in on-call rotations and work beyond a standard 40-hour workweek, including weekends and after-hours as required.

Standard Job Description

Performs general nuclear medicine examinations, including on-call services, therapeutic procedures and PET/CT patient exams in a hospital-based, acute care environment. Performs nuclear medicine quality control measures, patient exams and procedures as requested by the medical staff. Assists Radiologists and other medical staff during exams and procedures. Performs ancillary duties as required to maintain proper distribution, billing and archival of exams and procedures. Completes documentation for all information required for proper interpretation, reporting, archiving and retrieval of exams. Verifies written/electronic orders and related health information to ensure timely performance and reporting of NM exams and procedures. Participates in the implementation, monitoring and improvement of hospital quality indicators as described in the strategic plan. Completes appropriate documentation for the administration, receipt/return, decay and disposal of radioactive materials in compliance with state and/or federal regulations.
