Job Description
Position Overview
We are seeking a hands-on IT Specialist to support both office and manufacturing environments. This role is responsible for providing responsive end-user support, maintaining computer and network infrastructure, and ensuring reliable IT operations across the facility.
The ideal candidate is a self-driven problem solver who thrives in a fast-paced, industrial setting. This position operates with a high level of autonomy under a macro-management style, where accountability and service levels are critical.
Key Responsibilities
End User Support
  • Provide exceptional in-person and remote support to end users
  • Troubleshoot and resolve hardware, software, printer, and network issues
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for IT-related service requests
  • Maintain high service levels and timely issue resolution

Hardware & Systems Management
  • Procure, install, configure, upgrade, and maintain desktop and laptop computers
  • Install and maintain printers and peripheral devices
  • Install and support network hardware including switches
  • Perform routine maintenance and lifecycle management of IT equipment
  • Maintain inventory and tracking of IT assets

Network & Infrastructure Support
  • Diagnose and resolve network connectivity issues across the facility
  • Monitor network performance, availability, and security
  • Assist with basic switch configuration and network troubleshooting

Microsoft Environment Administration
  • Manage users, devices, and access in Active Directory
  • Support Microsoft 365 applications and services
  • Manage software licensing and ensure compliance

Security & Systems
  • Support facility security systems including surveillance and access control
  • Follow and help enforce cybersecurity best practices

Project & Vendor Coordination
  • Coordinate and direct third-party vendors and contractors on IT-related projects
  • Support system upgrades, rollouts, and improvement initiatives

Documentation & Process
  • Document systems, configurations, and troubleshooting procedures
  • Maintain accurate records of incidents, changes, and IT assets
  • Contribute to process improvement and standardization

Classification: Exempt Position
Reports to: IT Manager

Work Environment: Heavy Industrial Setting will occasionally work around molten metal in a loud environment.
Physical Demands: Standing, bending, squatting, sitting, work that may involving lifting up to 50 lbs.
Position type and expected outs of work: Full-time hours, work schedule is 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM, additional hours as needed and schedule subject to change.
Travel: Some travel may be required.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field, or equivalent experience
  • 2+ years of experience in an IT support, help desk, or IT specialist role
  • Strong troubleshooting skills with Windows operating systems, hardware, and peripherals
  • Basic understanding of networking concepts (TCP/IP, switches, connectivity)

Preferred Skills & Experience
  • Experience supporting IT in a manufacturing or industrial environment
  • Familiarity with Active Directory and Microsoft 365
  • Experience supporting network infrastructure and IT security systems
  • Experience with IT ticketing systems and service management practices
