The Plant IT Lead is an on-site IT plant leader supporting the Plant IT Manager and serving as the primary technology execution and solutions leader at the plant and also supports Regional and Global Manufacturing IT projects / initiatives. This role owns day-to-day plant IT solution needs, provides hands-on leadership to desk-side teams and contractors, and acts as the senior “boots on the ground” IT escalation point for the plant.

Responsibilities

  • Support the Plant IT Manager and serve as a primary customer concern point of contact for plant IT issues.
  • Translate plant operational needs into actionable IT solutions in partnership with the Plant IT Manager.
  • Ensure stable operation, uptime, and performance of plant IT systems and infrastructure.
  • Provide visible leadership on the plant floor during normal operations, outages, shutdowns, and commissioning events.
  • Coach, mentor, and guide desk-side support teams, and contractors.
  • Assist with daily priorities, provide technical direction, and ensure effective coverage for plant IT services.
  • Support deep technical capability and ownership within the on-site IT team.
  • Act as a domain expert in IT infrastructure, business processes, system integration, and/or IT/OT convergence.
  • Support and lead plant and or Global / Regional level solution design, implementation, integration, and problem solving.
  • Partner with application, infrastructure, OT, and cybersecurity teams to deliver compliant solutions.
  • Support plant readiness, cutover, and stabilization for upgrades and new deployments.
  • Ensure alignment to IT governance, cybersecurity, safety, and architecture standards.
  • Support audits, self-assessments, and remediation activities related to plant IT systems.
  • Identify and proactively mitigate operational, cybersecurity, and technology risks.
  • Adhere to and support company quality, environmental, health & safety, and certification standards, including ISO 9001:2015, ISO 14001:2015, ISO 45001:2018, IATF 16949:2016, and ASI Certifications, where applicable.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in manufacturing IT, plant-based IT operations, or industrial technology roles.
  • Proven hands-on expertise in at least one of the following: IT infrastructure, manufacturing business processes, system integration, production systems, or IT/OT convergence.
