  • Restore data from weekly fulls
  • The Backup Administrator responsibility includes system administration and support of engineering and design of the data backup environments. Key areas of support include:
  • Day to Day Systems Operation and Support
  • Performance Tuning
  • Backup Technology Implementation and Refresh
  • System Design
  • Standardization and Documentation
  • Oncall Team Rotation


 Requirements:

  • Minimum of 3+ years' experience with Symantec NetBackup Enterprise in a large multi-platform environment
  • Strong NetBackup 7.x expertise.
  • Support of installation processes, configuration, retention levels, policies and complete architecture for Netbackup.
  • Support requirements and standards including backup selections, policy types, retention levels, archiving tasks, etc.
  • Experience with support, troubleshooting, and problem resolution for tape backup and SAN environments.
  • Experience and understanding of snapshot and data replication technologies.
  • Use of NetBackup MSDP, database agents such as RMAN, SQL, Enterprise Vault, and Exchange.
  • Experience and strong knowledge of operating systems including Windows, VMware, Solaris, and AIX.
  • Experience supporting backup system hardware including IBM TS3500 Tape Library, IBM TS1130 Tape Drives, Data Domain, and NetBackup Appliances.
  • Experience supporting day to day management of disk and tape
