Location: Charlotte, NC (Hybrid: 4 days onsite, 1 day remote)
Duration: Contract through December 31, 2026 (likely extension)
About the Role
We are seeking a Technology Business Systems Consultant to join the Financial Crimes Data, Platforms, and Reporting Team within Financial Crimes Risk Management (FCRM).
In this role, you will bridge business and technology teams to deliver data-driven solutions supporting the Enterprise-Wide Risk Assessment (EWRA) program. You will serve as a key contributor in defining business requirements, managing product backlogs, and driving technology initiatives that enhance financial crimes risk management capabilities. Working in an Agile environment, you will partner with stakeholders to develop scalable solutions, improve business processes, and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
What You'll Do
  • Partner with business and technology teams to gather, analyze, and document business and technical requirements.
  • Translate complex business needs into detailed user stories, acceptance criteria, and functional specifications.
  • Serve as a Product Owner for Financial Crimes applications, managing priorities aligned with strategic product roadmaps.
  • Collaborate with development teams to design, build, test, and implement technology solutions.
  • Lead or contribute to initiatives addressing business, operational, and technical challenges across Financial Crimes programs.
  • Coordinate communication and information flow between business stakeholders and technology teams.
  • Drive Agile delivery activities using Jira, including story creation, backlog management, and sprint planning.
  • Evaluate and improve existing technical processes, identifying opportunities for automation and operational efficiency.
  • Support system testing efforts, validation activities, and deployment readiness.
  • Manage project schedules, deliverables, and stakeholder expectations across multiple concurrent initiatives.
  • Act as a trusted consultant to business and technology partners, recommending scalable and sustainable solutions.
Minimum Qualifications
  • 4+ years of Business Systems Analysis, Business Systems Consulting, Data Analysis, or related experience.
  • 3+ years of hands-on SQL development experience, including writing complex queries.
  • Experience working with Teradata databases.
  • Strong experience gathering business requirements and translating them into technical solutions.
  • Experience creating and managing stories, features, and epics within Jira.
  • Proven ability to collaborate across technical and non-technical teams to solve complex business problems.
  • Strong organizational, prioritization, and multitasking skills.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and presentation communication skills.
  • Ability to effectively work in a hybrid and cross-functional team environment.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience within Corporate Risk, Financial Crimes, Compliance, or Risk Management organizations.
  • Knowledge of Anti-Money Laundering (AML) regulations and the USA PATRIOT Act.
  • Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialist (CAMS) certification.
  • Understanding of banking products and services, including:
    • Demand Deposit Accounts (DDA)
    • ACH transactions
    • Wire transfers
    • Brokerage products
  • Experience with Microsoft SharePoint administration and site management.
  • Strong project management and product ownership experience.
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Ability to explain complex technical concepts to business stakeholders and translate business objectives into actionable technology strategies.
