Technical WriterLocation: Research Triangle Park (Durham, NC) โ€“ Hybrid (Onsite Tue/Wed)Duration: 3 months contract - with possibility of extension into next year. This role is ideal for candidates who excel at technical research, engineeringaligned writing, and translating complex concepts into clear, structured documentation.Key Responsibilitiesยท Conduct literature reviews and whitespace mapping across emerging technologies and engineering domains.ยท Research existing standards (UL, ANSI, IEEE, IEC, ISO, NFPA, ASHRAE, etc.) to identify gaps and opportunities.ยท Develop seed documents, technical briefs, executive summaries, and research summaries.ยท Draft technical publications, including landscape analyses, guidance documents, and engineeringstyle technical reports.ยท Collaborate closely with Technical Writers and SMEs to gather information and validate findings.ยท Attend SME interviews or engineering meetings as needed.ยท Support finalization of internal SOPs and documentation frameworks.Required Qualificationsยท Proven technical writing experience in engineering, standards, science, or public policy.
