ADS Environmental Services is seeking a highly motivated Business Development Manager to drive growth and expand market share through strategic engagement with engineering firms, consulting engineers, and channel partners.
This role is responsible for developing and strengthening strategic relationships that drive technology adoption, expand market reach, and create new business opportunities. The Business Development Manager will serve as a trusted technical advisor to engineering firms, consultants, channel partners, and customers while promoting ADS solutions through technical training, industry engagement, and thought leadership. The position also leads specification development and education efforts, supports strategic sales opportunities, and collaborates closely with Product Management, Sales, and Key Account Managers to accelerate growth.
Key Responsibilities
Engineering Firm, Channel Partner and Consultant Engagement
  • Develop and execute a strategic plan to identify, engage, and partner with engineering firms, design consultants, and infrastructure planners within the assigned territory.

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with consulting engineers to educate them on ADS technologies, leveraging our technical advantages to support customer needs and help clients achieve their project goals

  • Conduct technical presentations, lunch-and-learns, webinars, and educational workshops for engineering firms.

  • Work with product management and ADS engineering to put together technical documents to be used inside and outside ADS.

  • Drive adoption-based selling opportunities that create demand for ADS monitoring and software solutions.

  • Collaborate with regional sales teams to convert engineering influence into project wins and revenue growth.

  • Develop and execute account plans for targeted engineering and consulting organizations.

  • Monitor project activity and influence projects from planning through design and implementation.

Technical Solution Selling
  • Promote ADS Environmental portfolio, including: Flow Monitoring Solutions, Level Monitoring Technologies, Rainfall Monitoring Systems, Sewer and Stormwater Data Collection Programs, Subterra, Accusonic, ADS Software Platforms and Analytics Solutions, future technologies

  • Provide technical guidance regarding monitoring program design, data interpretation, and system optimization.

  • Assist customers and consulting engineers in evaluating monitoring requirements and developing technical recommendations.

  • Translate customer business challenges into technical solutions.

  • Work with ADS engineering, sales, product management, and operation teams to provide suggestions in system designs and technical recommendations.

  • Support RFQs, RFPs, proposals, and bid responses.

  • Position technology solutions that improve operational performance and project outcomes

Market Intelligence & Industry Engagement
  • Maintain awareness of industry trends, regulations, funding initiatives, and municipal infrastructure priorities.

  • Participate in industry organizations, conferences, engineering society meetings, and trade associations.

  • Collect competitive intelligence and provide market insights to sales and product management teams.

  • Support strategic initiatives that increase ADS visibility and credibility within the engineering community.

Cross-Functional Collaboration
  • Work closely with our channel partner servicing and growing with their engineering contracts

  • Develop Engineering Consultant Webinars and join events with channel partner.

  • Provide customer feedback to internal stakeholders to drive continuous improvement and innovation.

  • Establish ADS as a trusted technical advisor and preferred monitoring solutions provider within the water and wastewater engineering community.

  • Support product management in development and maintaining technical documents

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering: Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Water Resources Engineering, or related engineering discipline

  • 5+ years of experience in business development, technical sales, engineering consulting, or infrastructure solutions.

  • Experience calling on and building relationships with engineering firms and consultants.

  • Strong understanding of municipal wastewater, stormwater, and water utility infrastructure.

  • Excellent presentation, communication, and relationship-building skills.

  • Ability to travel throughout assigned territory as required.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred.

  • Experience with flow monitoring, level monitoring, collection systems, stormwater systems, or environmental monitoring technologies.

  • Familiarity with hydraulic modeling, infrastructure assessment, or smart water solutions.

  • Experience working with municipal engineering departments and consulting engineering firms.

  • Knowledge of asset management, data analytics, or SaaS-based monitoring platforms.

Total Rewards
The compensation range for this position is $88,200.00 - $132,200.00, depending on experience. This position may be eligible for performance based bonus plan.
