Job Description
AECOM is seeking a Federal Project BIM Coordinator to be based in Los Angeles, San Diego or Orange, CA. This individual is expected to be a Revit Technical Expert with an affinity for technical challenges, who maintains a high level of knowledge of BIM process and tools through continued use and training with a desire to be involved in daily production of work.
Project BIM Coordinator is to report to Office BIM Manager regularly for updates/check-ins and use the Office BIM Manager as a resource to get involved on complicated tasks or requests.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Project Interface
  • Lead BIM Kickoff Meetings with Consultants at start of Phase (done for all phases)
  • BIM Kickoff Meetings for internal team. Review standards and Revit workflow as well as orient to model setup and contract required BIM uses.
  • Assist project teams in BIM project setup including geo-located models, worksets, phases etc.
  • Create and manage Revit families in response to project need.
  • Setup and manage BIM data workflows and output.
  • Support project standard coordination with clients.
  • Help internal teams with BIM design and modeling requests and provide troubleshooting support.
  • Consistent Project Team check ins and over the shoulder support throughout phase (done for all phases)
  • Manage and distribute coordinated digital documents to the project team

Training
  • Internal Training: Provide Revit Fundamental training to staff
  • Conduct internal continuing education in Revit training sessions (Revit User Groups)
  • Maintain high level of competency of software through continued use and training
  • Attend conferences, seminars, and workshops for BIM; bringing back learning and disseminating the information to appropriate teams

Standards
  • Federal experience with USACE A/E/C/ Computer-Aided Design (CAD) Standards
  • USACE Project Execution Plan (PxP)
  • USACE Minimum Modeling Matrix (M3)
  • NAVFAC Drawing Standards
  • VA BIM Standards
  • Provide quality control for completeness and adherence to company standards of all drawings produced
  • Provide support for plotting and electronic file submissions
  • Automate simple routines in BIM to support standards and productivity (Dynamo)

BIM Management
  • Be an integral member of the Firm wide BIM Leadership Team
  • Report to Office BIM Manager
  • Develop, discover, collect and share processes, best practices and techniques with staff and other BIM Project Leads

  • Well-developed theoretical problem-solving capabilities. Able to define the core problem, analyze multiple solutions and conclude the best solution to meet the desired outcome.
  • Passion for sharing knowledge, and clearly communicating complex technical ideas to designers, managers and clients.
  • Strong time management and organization skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and determine which have the highest priority to be addressed first
  • Maintains composure in stressful situations.
  • Able to interact and mentor other team members in a thoughtful manner

Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Architecture or Engineering or related field +6 years' experience in the A/E/C industry or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
  • This position requires U.S. citizenship due to federal contract/security requirements.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Supervisory role in development / implementation of BIM protocols for an organization
  • Experience in training and development of internal teams.
  • Expert knowledge with proven practical application of Revit Architecture and integration with the Autodesk Suite of products.
  • Proficiency in Revit (and plugins), AutoCad, Sketchup, Enscape, Microsoft Office Suite, and Adobe Suite.
  • Working knowledge of additional design applications such as, NavisWorks, Dynamo, FormIt, Rhino.
  • Revit Certified Professional
