Job description

Hope for Heroes Military Program is a specialized mental health and substance abuse treatment program for Military service members (active-duty, Reserve, National Guard), Veterans, Military family members, First Responders and Medical Professionals. We provide evidence-based treatment of depression, mood disorder, PTSD (focusing on areas of combat trauma, military sexual trauma and childhood trauma). We tailor individualized treatment in the areas of addiction, dual-diagnosis, depression, anxiety and other behavioral health needs.

The Program Manager is responsible for daily operations, development, and administration of the Hope for Heroes program. Aligns community-focused initiatives with the organization's strategic mission. Seamlessly integrates first responder systems into the behavioral health care continuum.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Enforces daily schedules and adjusts program operations as needed.
  • Manages logistics for family visitations and offsite activities like Equine Therapy and Yoga.
  • Coordinates patient transportation with intake and outpatient departments.
  • Creates and implements operational policies, procedures, and quality improvement plans.
  • Drives business development through EAP partnerships, liaison work, and military base visits.
  • Leads program development to enhance service delivery and outpatient coordination.
  • Oversees personnel management, including hiring, orientation, training, and employee relations.
  • Manages direct reports' performance and professional development.
  • Facilitates non-clinical groups focused on community building, goal setting, and next steps.
  • Manages long-term referrals requiring multi-day engagement prior to official admission.
  • Collaborates with multidisciplinary teams (therapists, nursing, UR) to plan and execute discharges.
  • Partners with department leaders to ensure continuous, seamless patient care.
  • Participates in treatment team meetings to support clinical operations.
  • Serves as the program's fiscal manager.

Requirements

Education/Licensure

  • Master's degree in social work (MSW), Healthcare Administration (MHA), Mental Health Counseling, Psychology, Public Health, or Business Administration required.
  • Current State of Nevada clinical licensure (LCSW, LMFT, LPC) preferred.
  • Current CPR.

Knowledge and Experience:

  • Minimum three (3) years of healthcare management, supervisory, or program administration experience required.
  • Proven experience working within behavioral health systems, substance abuse treatment, or psychiatric inpatient/outpatient care.
  • Familiarity with military bases, Veteran Affairs (VA), Employee Assistance Programs (EAP), and the unique culture/needs of first responders required.
  • Experience in managing staff, development and supervision.
  • Maintains current knowledge of social, medical and psychiatric services available within the community.
