Job description

Aboutย SoloPulseย

SoloPulseย is a DARPA-funded Georgia Tech spin-out and non-traditional defense contractor (NTDC). Weย leverage advanced wave theory rooted in Quantum Electrodynamics (QED) to transform low-cost RF hardware into tactical-grade intelligence tools. Our product line includesย SIGMA (Electronic Support), NOVAย (SAR imaging), andย ATHENAย (AI orchestration), providing high-fidelity sensing at the tactical edge.ย

The Roleย

The Program Manager is responsible for translating USG contractual agreements and SoloPulse leadership directives into actionable Project Management Plans (PMPs). You will manage a portfolio of simultaneous projects, acting as the arbiter of accountability within a matrixed environment to ensure predictable deliveryย and seeking synergies across the projects.ย

Key Responsibilitiesย

  • PMP Generation:ย Develop andย maintainย comprehensive Project Management Plans for each project based on contractual SOWs and dialogue with the leadership team.ย

  • Accountability Management:ย Use the PMP as theย single sourceย of truth to provide objective evidence of plan/resource divergence, replacing "finger-pointing" with plan-based metrics.ย

  • Matrix Coordination: Partner with the Engineering Manager to secure and align technical resources for project execution.ย

  • Technical Qualification:ย Work with the engineering team to qualify progress and provide the CPO withย an accurate, "no-ignorance" view of product readiness.ย

  • Operational Stewardship: Ensure hardware and software design choices prioritize operational utility and relevant requirements for the warfighter.ย

  • IP Protection:ย Collaborate with theย CTOย to document technical advancements in a way that protectsย SoloPulse'sย long-term Intellectual Property.ย

Required Skills & Experience

Education:ย

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Engineering, or a related field (Master's preferred).ย
  • >5 years of relevant experience with USG programs

Defense Program Executionย

  • Portfolio Leadership: Proven track record of simultaneously leading 3-5 medium/high-complexity technical projects for defense industry customers.ย

  • Contractual Expertise:ย Familiarity with SBIR (Phase II/III),ย OTAย (Other Transaction Authority), and commercial-to-government sales.ย

  • Compliance:ย Expert understanding ofย ITAR/EARย regulations and defense-specific documentation standards.ย

Technical & Operational Literacyย

  • RF Systems:ย Functional understanding of RF systems.ย

  • Hardware Deployment: Familiarity with the mechanical engineering rigors of moving lab prototypes into tactical environments.ย

  • Documentation Rigor: Mastery in turning complex contract requirements into execution-ready PMPs using tools like Jira, MS Project, or Azure DevOps.ย

Leadership in the Matrixย

  • Influence without Authority:ย Ability to lead cross-functional engineering teams that do not report directly to you.ย

  • Risk Mitigation:ย Experienceย identifyingย resourcing gaps and technical debt before theyย impactย customer relationships.ย

  • Communication:ย Ability to present clear, data-driven progress reports horizontally to peers and upward to the C-suite.ย

Additional Prefered Skill and Experience
  • Master's Degree in Business, Engineering, or a related field
  • >8 years of relevant experience with USG program management
  • Relevant military experience
  • PMP/PgMP Certification
  • TS/SCI Security Clearance
$140,000 - $160,000 a year
