We are seeking an experienced Operations Manager to lead manufacturing, maintenance, facilities, quality, and continuous improvement initiatives at our North York facility. This role is responsible for driving operational excellence, leading high-performing teams, and ensuring safe, efficient, and cost-effective operations while supporting business growth and customer satisfaction.


Responsibilities

  • Lead daily manufacturing operations to achieve safety, quality, delivery, productivity, and cost targets.
  • Manage production, maintenance, facilities, quality, and planning activities.
  • Drive Lean Manufacturing, Continuous Improvement, 5S, Kaizen, and operational excellence initiatives.
  • Establish and monitor KPIs including Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost, Productivity, and OEE.
  • Lead, coach, and develop supervisors, team leads, and production employees.
  • Oversee preventive maintenance, equipment reliability, and facility infrastructure.
  • Partner with Engineering, Supply Chain, Quality, and Commercial teams to improve operational performance.
  • Manage production schedules, labor planning, inventory, and resource utilization.
  • Lead health, safety, environmental, and regulatory compliance programs.
  • Support capital projects, process improvements, and manufacturing optimization initiatives.
  • Manage operational budgets, cost reduction programs, and business performance objectives.

Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Operations Management, or a related technical discipline.
  • 10+ years of manufacturing leadership experience, including 5+ years in a Plant Manager, Operations Manager, or Manufacturing Manager role.
  • Experience leading production, maintenance, quality, planning, and supply chain functions within an industrial manufacturing environment.
  • Strong knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Continuous Improvement, 5S, Kaizen, Root Cause Analysis, and Operational Excellence.
  • Experience with CNC machining, metal fabrication, welding, assembly, or precision manufacturing processes.
  • Experience managing maintenance programs, equipment reliability, facilities, and manufacturing KPIs (Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost, Productivity, and OEE).
  • Proficiency with ERP/MRP systems, production planning, scheduling, and inventory management.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and team development skills.
  • Professional proficiency in English.

Preferred

  • P.Eng., Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or related professional certifications.
  • Experience managing budgets, capital projects, operational performance, and P&L accountability.
  • Experience within metals, precision manufacturing, industrial equipment, automotive, aerospace, or engineered products industries.
  • Unionized manufacturing experience.
  • Experience leading automation, process optimization, or equipment implementation projects.
