Job description

ROLE:    Project Manager, IT Infrastructure

MUST: PHARMA EXPERIENCE + PMP Certified + (Onsite) Portland OR

                     Senior IT PM (min 10 years’ IT PM experience in IT Infrastructure)

 

The role is responsible for planning, overseeing and leading the delivery of IT & OT Infrastructure Projects in an international environment and with a scope reach ranging between local, regional and global. 

These may be isolated projects or projects, which are part of a larger program, where the Infrastructure IT Project Manager is required to engage in close cooperation and alignment with other Project Managers as relevant and as directed by the Program Manager.

The role owner interacts with multicultural internal and external stakeholders at all levels.  

The PM will ensure that the project delivers the Design and ramp-up of the IT and OT infrastructure.

 An IT Infrastructure PM is required for planning, overseeing, and leading the delivery of:

  • Project Blockbuster is the development and deployment of a state-of-the-art production facility designed to support large-scale, high-efficiency operations using advanced digital, automated, and IT-integrated technologies.

The facility will incorporate modern production equipment, smart-factory systems, real-time monitoring, and data-driven workflow optimization to maximize output quality, reduce operational downtime, and ensure consistent production performance.

  • The project includes the design of the facility layout, installation of production lines, integration and automation controls, development of centralized management dashboards, and implementation of cybersecurity protocols to protect operational technology (OT) systems. Project Blockbuster will also support predictive maintenance, automated quality checks, and scalable infrastructure that allows for future expansion.
  • Once operational, the Blockbuster Production Facility will deliver increased productivity, enhanced reliability, reduced manual workload, and improved overall operational intelligence—positioning the organization for long-term growth and competitive advantage.

IT PM Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the delivery of IT/OT infrastructure and services for the site throughout the project life cycle and in compliance with defined Client’s policies and standards for IT Project Management.
  • Engage with cross-functional teams to ensure implementation of the requested infrastructures.
  • Engage with different departments (e.g. QC, Logistics, Engineering) throughout the project lifecycle
  • Responsible for ensuring that the requested infrastructures are delivered and implemented in compliance with the defined Client’s IT Security and Quality Assurance policies and standards.
  • Oversee and control project in terms of budget, timelines, milestones, deliverables, compliance, resources, communication, and internal and external stakeholders to meet project specific requirements and specifications
  • Identify project risks and define, propose and implement mitigating actions
  • Manage unforeseen situations / delays, realign schedule and expectations
  • Facilitate effective communication across all involved stakeholders, including senior management from the different site departments as well as technical teams
  • Maintain a project documentation and support continuous improvements for the delivery at the site
  • Collect, analyse and summarize information in project status reports to defined stakeholders and according to plan
  • Lead project steering committee meetings, and communicate and deliver reports according to plan
  • Maintain Client’s’s project management system as specified.

IT PM Skills / Qualifications and Experience

  • Experience in IT infrastructure project management with focus on repurposing / integration of data center (Brownfield approach)
  • Solid technical understanding of infrastructure and architecture, including LAN/WAN, WiFi, switching)
  • Good understanding of infrastructure topics like servers, firewalls, security, etc. and  workplace environment
  • Good communication skills with stakeholder engagement/management and conflict-resolution skills
  • Experience within the Pharma or other validated production industry.
  • Knowledge of and experience with compliance with Pharma industry regulations (e.g., GxP, FDA) throughout project lifecycles.
  • Degree in IT or in an engineering field
  • Proactive, self-driven, committed, and flexible.
  • Structured, focused and result oriented with attention to detail.
  • Mentally robust, retains the overview and navigates efficiently under pressure.
  • Excellent analytical, logical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Fluency in English is mandatory. Additional language skills an advantage.
  • Certified PMP or Prince2.

Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
