Job description

Description

Director, AI Enablement & Platforms Full-time | On-site | Director / Senior Leadership | Technology & Digital Strategy | Microsoft 365 / Copilot Environment

At Waldinger, we build the infrastructure that keeps communities running — and we want the systems powering our people and our operations to be just as strong. AI is no longer on the horizon; it's here, and we need the right person to lead it with confidence.

This is a rare enterprise accountability seat. You won't be implementing someone else's technical vision — you'll define ours. As our first Director of AI Enablement & Platforms, you'll own the architecture, governance, and delivery strategy for Microsoft Copilot and our broader AI capabilities. If you've spent years mastering enterprise AI platforms, navigating security and compliance realities, and translating complex technology into trusted business tools — we built this role for you.

Deep Microsoft 365 and Copilot platform experience is essential. Whether you come from an enterprise architecture background, a platform ownership role, or senior IT leadership, your ability to govern AI responsibly while enabling real business value will define success here. This is a high‑level technical leadership role focused on platform ownership and enablement rather than hands‑on development.

What You'll Own
  • AI Platform Strategy & Ownership: Establish and maintain enterprise AI platform strategy, including target-state architecture, operating models, and standards for Microsoft Copilot and Microsoft 365 AI capabilities. Evaluate emerging capabilities and determine readiness for adoption at scale.
  • Governance & Responsible AI: Define and enforce platform guardrails — data access, acceptable use, and security controls. Partner cross-functionally with Security, Legal, Privacy, and Risk to operationalize responsible AI. Serve as the escalation point for platform-related risk and compliance decisions.
  • Platform Enablement & Scalability: Ensure AI capabilities are deployed consistently and scalably across the organization. Provide guidance on appropriate use cases, prevent tool fragmentation, and establish standards for agent lifecycle management and deployment in Copilot Studio.
  • Identity, Access & Security Alignment: Oversee alignment with Microsoft Entra ID and enterprise identity and access frameworks, including RBAC, service principals, managed identities, and agent identities. Collaborate with security partners to identify and mitigate platform-level risks.
  • Insights, Adoption & Performance: Monitor platform usage, adoption trends, and risk signals through telemetry and admin reporting. Translate insights into actionable executive-level recommendations and ensure clear visibility into platform health and value realization.
  • Cross-Functional Leadership: Act as a trusted advisor to IT leadership and business stakeholders. Partner across Enterprise Architecture, Digital Workplace, Security, and Data functions to align AI capabilities with business priorities. Provide architectural guidance without direct delivery ownership.

What You Bring
  • 10+ years in enterprise technology, platform leadership, or IT architecture roles, with demonstrated accountability for large-scale platforms
  • Architectural understanding of Microsoft 365, including Copilot, Teams, SharePoint, Exchange, OneDrive, and Loop
  • Platform-level knowledge of Copilot Studio, Microsoft 365 Copilot extensibility, and AI agent concepts
  • Strong understanding of Microsoft Entra ID, RBAC, service principals, and managed identities
  • Experience integrating multiple frontier models into a technical environment
  • Background working with Security, Compliance, Legal, or Risk organizations in an enterprise setting
  • Ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly to non-technical executive audiences
  • Demonstrated ability to lead, develop, and inspire high-performing teams while fostering accountability, collaboration, and a positive, growth-oriented culture
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field

      What You Get
      • Health, dental & vision insurance
      • 401k with company match & profit-sharing
      • Tuition reimbursement
      • Continuing education & advancement opportunities
      • Paid holidays & vacation
      • Wellness plan & lifestyle spending account
      • Health club reimbursement
      • Life, AD&D & prepaid legal
