Core Responsibilities
  • Develop Mastercam programs and G-code for foundry tooling, patterns, core boxes, related components, and injection-molding molds.
  • Collaborate with engineers and CAD technicians to improve tooling designs.
  • Design or select work-holding fixtures, choose tooling, and calculate speeds and feeds.
  • Interpret blueprints, CAD models, and technical drawings; set up, calibrate, and operate CNC equipment.
  • Monitor machining, complete in-process inspections, and maintain precision and quality requirements.
  • Maintain the department tool library and support continuous improvement in CAD/CAM, tooling, and work-holding methods.
  • Train and mentor Tooling Center machinists.

Essential Qualifications and Experience
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • At least 5 years of advanced manufacturing experience, including 3 years of verifiable CAM experience.
  • Associate degree or CNC, precision-machining, or manufacturing-technology certification is preferred.
  • Experience with foundry tooling or multi-axis machining is preferred.

Important Technical Skills
  • Mastercam and G-code programming.
  • CAD/CAM software; SolidWorks CSWA is preferred.
  • CNC machine setup, calibration, operation, and multi-axis machining.
  • Blueprint and technical-drawing interpretation.
  • Calipers, micrometers, tooling selection, speeds and feeds, trigonometry, and geometry.
  • Work holding, metallurgy, and foundry tooling.
