Job Description
HII Mission Technologies is seeking an experienced ServiceNow Technical Business Designer. This role will bridge the gap between business needs and IT capabilities by configuring, supporting, and optimizing the ServiceNow platform. They will translate business requirements into technical user stories, manage workflow design, perform system administration (UI policies, business rules), and support ITSM operations.

Essential Job Responsibilities
  • Lead solution design and requirement decomposition, translating mission/business needs into technically sound ServiceNow designs (data model, workflows, integrations)
  • Facilitate deep-dive working sessions with stakeholders and engineers to define processes, validate assumptions, and align on scalable platform solutions
  • Produce high-quality design artifacts (user stories, acceptance criteria, data mappings, workflow diagrams) that are implementation-ready for development teams
  • Drive OOTB-first design decisions, evaluating tradeoffs across configuration vs customization with a focus on maintainability and upgradeability
  • Partner closely with developers and architects to refine backlog, resolve technical ambiguities, and ensure alignment to platform standards (CMDB/CSDM, security, governance)
  • Support testing and validation efforts, ensuring delivered solutions meet functional, technical, and data integrity requirements

Minimum Qualifications
Level 3 : 6 years relevant experience with Bachelors in related field; 4 years relevant experience with Masters in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 10 years relevant experience.
Level 4: 10 years relevant experience with Bachelors in related field; 8 years relevant experience with Masters in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 14 years relevant experience.
Required experience: 5+ years as a Business Analyst with at least 3 years Business Analyst Supporting ServiceNow implementations.
Experience translating business requirements into technical stories and acceptance criteria, facilitating requirements gathering sessions with stakeholders, and documenting users stories, functional requirements, process flows, and acceptance criteria.
Experience working on/with Agile/Scrum delivery teams
Security + Certification to be obtained within 3 months of hire.
TS/SCI clearance required at time of hire with ability to obtain Poly.
Preferred Requirements
Desired certifications or training: ServiceNow Certified Implementation Specialist - ITSM (CIS-ITSM), ITIL Foundation (V3 or V4), Certified Scrum Master.ServiceNow Certified System Administrator (CSA)
Desired experience: Experience supporting; ServiceNow ITSM implementations, federal or regulated environments, platform governance and backlog management, user acceptance testing (UAT) and release validation. Familiarity with CMDB, Incident, Change, and Request Management processes.
