About the role 
The Associate Technical Designer will be responsible for executing the design aesthetic and fit direction for specified categories

The impact you can have 

  • Translate the design concept into specification packages which detail garment measurements, design features and construction requirements to communicate to the vendor.

  • Evaluate samples for fit, measurement, pattern shaping, and functionality to insure fit and proper styling. 

  • Provide technical direction, internally and externally, on corrective actions needed to bring samples to brand fit standards.  Utilize written comments, sketches, photos or pattern making as needed to communicate.

  • Take ownership for final fit and styling partnering with Product Development/ Design/ Merchandising/Sourcing/Quality.

  • Issue grading guidelines to vendors after fit approval.

  • Anticipate and resolve any pre-production and production problems while in the fit process.

  • Represent the voice of the customer for fit and garment construction in meetings and written communication; is the guardian for the customer profile relating to fit detail

You’ll bring to the role 

  • 3-5 years of experience in technical design positions either in women’s fashion apparel retailing or manufacturing industry leaders, plus size or intimates experience preferred.

  • College Degree emphasizing Apparel Design and/or Engineering, Textiles & Clothing.

  • Working knowledge of pattern making, garment construction, exposure to garment manufacturing.

  • Excellent computer skills, including experience using Excel, Web PDM, Illustrator, PLM and/or other on-line specification packages.
