Role Description:

As the Manager, Data Platform, you will lead a talented team responsible for designing, building, enhancing, and administering enterprise data platforms that power analytics, reporting, and business operations across the organization. You will help shape the strategic direction of our data platform ecosystem while ensuring it remains scalable, secure, reliable, and easy to use. In this role, you will partner closely with Data Engineering, Analytics, Infrastructure, Architecture, and Operations teams to deliver modern cloud-based platform capabilities that enable innovation and drive business value. You'll champion engineering best practices, automation, continuous improvement, and platform governance while mentoring your team and fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and technical excellence.

Qualifications:

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field is preferred.

Required Qualifications:

  • 5 or more years of experience in data engineering, data platform engineering, or related technical roles.
  • 2 or more years of experience leading and managing technical teams or enterprise data platforms.
  • Strong hands-on experience building and administering cloud-based data platforms within AWS, Azure, or GCP environments.
  • Experience with modern data platforms such as Snowflake, Databricks, Airflow, Kafka, or similar technologies.
  • Experience with enterprise platform design, configuration, administration, and lifecycle management.
  • Proven ability to improve platform scalability, performance, reliability, and usability.
  • Experience leading platform automation initiatives using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and modern deployment practices.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to both technical and business audiences.
  • Must be presently authorized to work in the U.S. without a requirement for work authorization sponsorship by our company for this position now or in the future.
  • This position allows for a hybrid work schedule which includes a minimum of 3 days per week in our St. Louis Corporate Office, located at 1832 Schuetz Rd. Saint Louis, MO. All employees are required to submit work from home requests and follow our Work From Home policy, which will be provided to all candidates selected to interview.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform or CloudFormation.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps/DataOps practices.
  • Knowledge of data platform security, governance, and access controls.
  • Experience with cloud cost optimization and FinOps practices.
  • Experience leading platform modernization, standardization, and continuous improvement initiatives.
