Precise Systems is seeking a Configuration Management Specialist to support our Crane, IN team through systems throughout development, production, fielding, and sustainment. The specialist will manage configuration identification, change control, status accounting, audits, and technical data for hardware, software, firmware, and program documentation. This role works closely with Government personnel and multidisciplinary engineering, logistics, test, quality, cybersecurity, and program teams to maintain accurate and traceable system baselines. This role requires in-person support.

Duties:

·     Establish, maintain, and control configuration items and approved functional, allocated, and product baselines.

·     Process and track Engineering Change Proposals, change requests, deviations, waivers, variances, and revision notices through closure.

·     Maintain configuration status accounting records, change logs, baseline indexes, document lists, and revision histories.

·     Evaluate proposed changes for impacts to technical data, testing, logistics, production, cost, schedule, and fielded configurations.

·     Verify approved changes are incorporated into drawings, specifications, manuals, software records, test documentation, and logistics products.

·     Support hardware, software, and firmware configuration management, including builds, releases, versions, patches, serial numbers, and approved modifications.

·     Prepare and support Configuration Control Board meetings, including change packages, agendas, minutes, decisions, and action-item tracking.

·     Support Functional and Physical Configuration Audits by assembling audit packages, documenting findings, and tracking corrective actions.

·     Maintain controlled technical-data repositories and coordinate document review, release, retention, archival, and authorized distribution.

·     Coordinate configuration activities across engineering, logistics, test, software, quality, cybersecurity, production, and program-management teams.

Required Education:

·     Bachelor’s degree in Configuration Management, Business Administration, Information Management, Engineering, Computer Science, Logistics, or a related discipline; equivalent directly relevant experience may be considered when permitted by the contract labor-category requirements.

Required Experience:

·     Three (3) years of relevant experience supporting configuration management, change control, technical-data management, product lifecycle management, document control, or comparable defense-program activities.

·     Experience with configuration identification, configuration change control, configuration status accounting, and configuration audits.

·     Experience processing or supporting ECPs, deviations, waivers, change requests, or related technical-change documentation.

·     Experience maintaining hardware, software, firmware, or technical-document baselines.

·     Ability to evaluate configuration changes and identify impacts to technical documentation, testing, logistics, production, cost, and schedule.

·     Experience tracking configuration actions and documentation through review, approval, implementation, verification, and closure.

·     Strong attention to detail and the ability to maintain accurate, complete, and traceable records.

·     Strong technical-writing, analytical, organizational, and communication skills.

·     Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams, and SharePoint.

·     Ability to learn and operate Government configuration-management, document-control, product-lifecycle, or data-management systems.

·     Ability to work effectively across engineering, logistics, test, software, quality, cybersecurity, and program-management teams.

Desired Experience:

·     Experience supporting the Department of Defense, Department of the Navy, Army product-manager organizations, NAVSEA, or NSWC Crane.

·     Experience supporting PdM FITE or comparable military acquisition, force-protection, mission-system, communications, electronic, or software programs.

·     Working knowledge of SAE EIA-649, MIL-HDBK-61, and NAVSEAINST 4130.12.

·     Experience supporting Configuration Control Boards and Functional or Physical Configuration Audits.

·     Familiarity with hardware, software, and firmware configuration management.

·     Experience with product lifecycle management, configuration status accounting, document control, or engineering-data-management tools such as iPDM, Windchill, Teamcenter, Jira, Git, or SharePoint.

·     Experience supporting engineering, production, test, fielding, sustainment, logistics-product data, or supplier configuration-management activities.

Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance. Due to the sensitivity of customer-related requirements, U.S. Citizenship is required.
