Operating Title Associate Technical Service Manager (Auto-Negotiation, MAC, Flow Control, PCS) Long Classification Title Interoperability Manager I Campus Location Durham Department UNH Interoperability Lab Summary of Position
The InterOperability lab is a commercially funded independent testing facility for networking and data communications devices and software. The Associate Technical Service Manager is responsible for supporting the development and execution of testing services and/or hardware/software testing tools used by our approximately 200 global business partners https://www.iol.unh.edu/membership/members. The position will serve as a technical manager for conformance teams within the Embedded and Baseband teams.. The technical manager role will support teams such as Auto-Negotiation, MAC, Flow Control, PCS, etc.

  • Basic knowledge of TCP/IP networking.
  • Basic experience creating technical documents
  • Basic knowledge of networking device configuration (home router, etc), scripting concepts, and the desire to train college students for future roles in the industry.
  • Ability to work both independently and as a team member.
  • Ability to travel.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills.
Additional Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree and two years of experience in technology appropriate to project such as IPV6, high-speed ethernet and mobile, and/or other technology as defined by the IOL.
  • Basic troubleshooting experience; ability to respond quickly and isolate basic issues with networking devices
  • Basic demonstrated understanding of data communications; communication between computer systems or devices and testing practices and methodologies
  • Agile Team Experience
  • Project management experience.
  • Business Development and Marketing experience
  • Customer service - client relationship management experience.
  • Knowledge of Atlassian products
Salary Information
Salary is complemented by a comprehensive benefits package which includes medical, dental, retirement, tuition, and paid time off. 
Royalty / IP Licensing Pool: IOL managers are entered into an IP licensing pool to receive compensation based on tools and software that the UNH-IOL licenses to our customers.
Incentive / Bonus Program: IOL managers are also eligible for an annual incentive bonus based on department and individual performance.
