Job Summary
The College of Fine Arts is seeking a student for a Technology Support Assistant position which will provide friendly, prompt technology support for classrooms, faculty computers, and intake of help request calls across the college. This position is ideal for a student employee interested in gaining hands-on experience with classroom technology, Mac and Windows systems, and hands-on computer support.
Work Setting: On-site support for classrooms, offices, and faculty workspaces
Primary Responsibilities
Provide classroom AV support, including basic troubleshooting for projectors, displays, audio systems, presentation systems, and related classroom technology.
Respond to help desk tickets; assist faculty and staff with technology support requests.
Support faculty computers and workstations using both Mac and Windows operating systems.
Assist with break/fix, testing, and maintenance of classroom and instructional technology.
Communicate clearly and professionally with faculty and staff when resolving technology issues.
Document support activity, update tickets, and escalate complex technical issues to technology staff when appropriate.
Qualifications
Must be currently enrolled as a student at UK and eligible for student employment.
Prior technical support experience is a plus but not required.
General interest in computer technology, classroom systems, and helping others solve problems.
Ability to communicate professionally and provide courteous customer service.
Willingness to learn Mac and Windows support tasks and the UK ticketing system.
Dependability, attention to detail, and ability to follow instructions.
