Job Description

The University of Nevada, Reno is recruiting for a NCAR Services Coordinator within the Nevada Center of Applied Research (NCAR).

The NCAR Services Coordinator (Coordinator) supports the day-to-day operations of one of Nevada's premier applied research and innovation environments, helping connect industry partners with university facilities, resources, and expertise. The position serves as a primary point of contact for affiliate companies and supports a broad range of operational, administrative, financial, and partnership activities that contribute to the success of NCAR programs and services.

Working closely with faculty, researchers, university departments, and industry partners, the coordinator helps ensure that facilities, programs, and collaborative projects operate efficiently while providing a high level of customer service. The position offers an opportunity to engage with companies ranging from startups to established industry leaders across technology, aerospace, unmanned systems, advanced manufacturing, and other innovation-focused sectors.

The coordinator reports to the Senior Coordinator, Shared Research Facilities.

Duties include:

  • Serve as a primary operational contact for affiliate companies utilizing NCAR facilities and services.

  • Coordinate onboarding activities, facility access, space utilization, and operational logistics for industry partners.

  • Support the administration of agreements, compliance documentation, insurance records, and other operational requirements.

  • Coordinate invoicing, billing, deposits, and routine financial activities associated with NCAR programs and services.

  • Assist with sponsored project administration, contract tracking, and maintenance of program records and files.

  • Support the development and implementation of operational procedures and process improvements.

  • Collect, maintain, and report operational data to support program assessment and institutional reporting.

  • Connect industry partners with university resources, facilities, and research expertise.

  • Assist with outreach activities, partnership development efforts, and special projects that support the growth of NCAR and the University's research enterprise.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree and two (2) years of related work experience; OR

A Master's Degree and one (1) year of related work experience. Related Experience: Experience in laboratory and/or research facility management, experience supporting multi-disciplinary research or science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) programs or environments or a related field.
