Responsibilities:

  • Substitute teacher must deliver lesson plans provided by the absent teacher, ensuring continuity in students' education.
  • Substitute teacher must adapt to different classroom environments and grade levels, maintaining a positive and productive atmosphere.
  • Substitute teacher must manage classroom behavior and maintain a safe, respectful learning environment.
  • Substitute teacher must communicate effectively with students, staff, and parents as needed.
  • Substitute teacher must follow school district policies and procedures.

Qualifications:

  • Must have a high school diploma with 2.0 GPA or higher.
  • Must be at least 21 years old.
  • Must provide three (3) professional references.
  • Must demonstrate eligibility to work in the United States.
  • Must have proof of a completed background check for the State Department of Education. Typically includes a fingerprint-based criminal background check, which often includes child abuse and neglect registry check, or as required by state law and/or school district policy.
  • Must have proof of results of TB, drug, or other tests required for the State Department of Education.
  • Must have a current Substitute License or Authorization, if available in your state.
  • Strong communication and classroom management skills.
  • Ability to adapt quickly to different educational settings and grade levels.
  • Passion for education and making a positive impact on students' lives.

Desired

  • Previous experience in teaching or substitute teaching is highly desirable.
