Tax Resolution Sales Settlement Officer
Well-Established Accounting Firm – Tax Resolutions Department
We are a well-established accounting firm seeking an experienced Settlement Officer to handle inbound client inquiries and guide individuals through IRS and state tax relief options.
This role offers a steady flow of qualified leads and strong earning potential for candidates with prior tax resolution or IRS collections experience. We offer a signing bonus and guarantees commensurate with performance in a high volume environment.
Position Overview
The role is responsible for handling inbound calls from prospective clients, conducting preliminary case evaluations, and educating prospective clients on available tax resolution options. This role is critical in setting accurate expectations, qualifying cases, and ensuring a smooth handoff to our case management and resolution teams.
This position is ideal for someone with prior tax resolution sales or intake experience who understands IRS collections, compliance requirements, and ethical client communication.
Key Responsibilities & Qualifications
   Must have experience selling tax resolution.
·         Handle inbound inquiries from prospective tax resolution clients with professionalism and discretion
  • Conduct initial intake and fact-finding calls to assess IRS or state tax issues, including balances due, notices received, and enforcement actions
  • Educate prospective clients on appropriate tax resolution options (e.g., installment agreements, CNC status, offers in compromise, penalty abatement) without making guarantees
  • Clearly explain the firm’s process, engagement structure, and next steps
  • Accurately document client information and coordinate a smooth handoff to account management or resolution staff
  • Maintain strict confidentiality and adhere to IRS regulations and firm compliance standards
  • Prior experience in tax resolution intake or sales is required
  • Working knowledge of IRS collections procedures and tax resolution strategies
  • Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
  • High level of professionalism, integrity, and client service orientation
