Job description

Position Summary
Our tasting room associates are an essential part of our tasting rooms and restaurants and serve as the main connector between the guest and the Ballast Point brand. The tasting room associate is passionate about food and beverage, and as a true hospitality ambassador, is responsible for providing exceptional food and beverage service and sales, putting the customers' needs first, and continuously striving to improve the overall guest experience.
What You'll Be Doing
  • Greet every customer with a smile and inviting welcome, and thank every customer for visiting, inviting them back and upholding the Ballast Point guest service as a top priority
  • Share about all Ballast Point craft beer and food offerings correctly and passionately, answering all guest questions and making food and beer menu recommendations
  • Follow our Steps of Service to ensure all food and beverages are delivered with exceptional care and observe guests' dining experience to ensure guests are satisfied with their food, beverages, and service
  • Demonstrate a knowledge of ABC laws for legal sale of alcohol by verifying guest identification responsibly serving alcohol
  • Maintain and uphold brand and safety standards for keeping the bar, restaurant, patio, private dining rooms, and bathrooms clean and sanitary
  • Remove dirty and unneeded glassware and plates from customer's dining space and ensure the floors and seating areas are free of trash and debris
  • Operate POS system (Aloha) for sale of food, beer, and merchandise
  • Contribute as a valuable, respectful team member by communicating effectively and driving process and service improvements

What You'll Need
  • Passion for food and craft beer
  • Must be a minimum of 21 years of age
  • Part Time availability
  • Extensive knowledge and ability to talk about flavors and profiles of Ballast Point beer and food
  • Ability to work respectfully in a team environment, communicate effectively, and ensure all tasks and projects are completed to the highest level of Ballast Point standards
  • Positive attitude, outgoing personality and people-skills, a must!
  • Ability to multitask, problem-solve, manage time effectively and adjust to guest needs and flow of restaurant
  • Must possess a current RBS (Responsible Beverage Service) Certificate
  • Must possess a current Food Handlers Certificate
  • Cicerone Certified Beer Server Certificate preferred
  • POS (Point of Sale) system experience preferred
  • Must have reliable transportation
  • Schedule flexibility with nights, weekends, and holiday availability preferred
