 Job Overview

Courtyard by Marriott Richmond Berkeley is seeking an experienced and service-driven Front Office Manager to oversee front desk operations while supporting financial processes including accounts receivable and invoicing. This role is ideal for a hospitality professional who excels in guest service, team leadership, and operational organization, including managing group reservations and coordination.


 Responsibilities
  • Oversee daily front office operations, including front desk, guest services, and night audit
  • Lead, train, and mentor front desk associates to deliver outstanding guest service
  • Ensure efficient check-in/check-out processes and resolve guest concerns professionally
  • Maintain compliance with Marriott brand standards and company policies
  • Create and manage staff schedules, payroll, and coverage
 Team Leadership & Culture
  • Promote a positive, inclusive, and high-performing work environment
  • Drive team engagement, morale, and retention through coaching, recognition, and feedback
  • Lead by example in professionalism, service, and teamwork
  • Conduct staff meetings, training sessions, and performance evaluations
  • Support employee development and address concerns proactively
 Group Reservations & Coordination
  • Oversee group reservations, room blocks, and special booking requirements
  • Review and execute group resumes (event details / rooming lists / billing instructions) to ensure accuracy and readiness
  • Coordinate with sales and event teams to ensure seamless group arrivals and departures
  • Monitor group pick-up, rooming lists, and last-minute changes
  • Ensure proper billing setup, routing, and guest experience for group stays
 Financial & Administrative Duties
  • Manage accounts receivable (AR), including tracking outstanding balances and follow-ups

  • Prepare and process invoices for corporate accounts, group bookings, and extended stays

  • Ensure accurate billing, folio reconciliation, and guest account management

  • Coordinate with accounting on payments, discrepancies, and reporting

  • Handle cash management, audits, and front office financial reporting

  • Monitor guest satisfaction scores and online reviews; drive improvements

  • Collaborate with housekeeping, maintenance, and sales teams for seamless operations


 Qualifications
  • 2+ years of front office supervisory or management experience in hospitality
  • Experience with group reservations, billing, and hotel accounting functions (AR/invoicing) required
  • Strong leadership skills with a focus on team engagement and culture
  • Familiarity with hotel PMS systems (Stay PMS, FOSSE, Opera, or similar)
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • High school diploma required; hospitality or business degree preferred
