Job description

Job Summary

We are seeking an APP for Tanner Health's Primary Care of Sargent location. The provider will join a physician at the clinical site and report to the Executive Director of the Tanner Primary Care of Sargent practice. Tanner Primary Care of Sargent is part of Tanner Medical Group which consists of 40+ individual practices and has approximately 270 total providers. This clinic site will open September 2026 in the Sargent, GA area.

This APP will work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary healthcare team to provide services for patients with primary care issues in the clinic setting under the direction of their supervising physician. He/she will collaborate with other providers while conducting physical exams, diagnose and treat acute and chronic issues, order and interpret diagnostic test including lab work and imaging studies, provide education and counseling to patients while maintaining medical records via EPIC EMR.

Note: This job summary is not intended to be all-inclusive. The employee may be required to perform other related duties as negotiated to meet the ongoing needs of the organization.

Job Eligibility Requirements

Education

  • Completed Physician Assistant program in good standing or Master of Nursing with specialization in Nurse Practitioner

Certification/License

  • Currently hold or be able to obtain a Georgia Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant License
  • Currently hold or be able to obtain a Board Certification as Nurse Practitioner

Experience

  • Open to New graduates or candidates with experience in related fields.


Qualifications

  • Able to communicate effectively with medical and hospital staff and various populations in clinics and public screening events.
  • ACLS recommended.
  • Additional certification will be required for some specialties (i.e. ACLS, PALS)
  • Graduate of a recognized Physician Assistant program.
  • Must be capable of dealing tactfully and effectively with patients, family members, other employees and physicians
  • Must maintain high degree of confidentiality.
  • Must meet credentialing criteria.
  • Must possess the cognitive ability to understand patient medical records, physician orders and medical orders to be communicated to patient, hospital and/or other physician.
  • Must possess the sense or discipline to work in accordance with accepted clinical standards.
  • Prior experience in a like specialty preferred.

*Customer Service: Participates in patient satisfaction initiatives. Demonstrates excellent customer service skills. Communicates effectively with patients and management regarding service recovery opportunities. Works together with other team members to achieve Office and System customer service goals.
*Development: Maintain and update level of skill for pertinent medical assistant duties. Participates in continuing education. Participates in the development of new programs (ex: Process Improvement, Quality Initiatives).
*Patient Care: Performs evaluations, provide treatment and counsel patients. Order and interpret test results and recommend treatment of patients. Administer therapeutic procedures. Prescribe therapy or medication with physician approval. Provide physicians with assistance during surgery or complicated medical procedures. Demonstrates specialty and population specific competencies. Demonstrates an ability to effectively communicate based on specific specialty and population. Performs other duties as assigned by the supervising physician.
*Quality: Maintains evidence based medical care and clinical charting. Participates with clinical tracking and feedback. Integrates with clinical and administrative teams to administer high quality care.
*Teamwork: Works well with others and functions as a team player. Offers ideas and solutions for issues that affect the team and work area. Participates in the training and skills development of new clinical staff. Assists as needed.

*Physician Assistant provides patient services through the performance of patient evaluation, assessment and treatment in the medical office setting as allowed by state licensure laws under the supervision of the medical director.
