Under the guidance of the Head Start Health/Safety Nutrition Advocate, your responsibilities will include ensuring adherence to public safety rules and internal procedures while maintaining a safe and sanitary environment for the children. You will assist in their care and education, implementing Head Start Performance Standards and Reno-Sparks Indian Colony Policies.Additionally, your role involves conducting safety inspections and training staff on essential safety policies and procedures, ensuring a comprehensive approach to health and safety in accordance with Indian Health Services Tribal Health and Safety Code and Child and Adult Care Food Program guidelines. This position not only prioritizes student safety and well-being but also contributes to a nurturing learning environment.What you need to be successfulTo thrive as a Full-Time Bus Driver/Safety Coordinator at the Reno-Sparks Indian Colony, a comprehensive set of skills and qualifications is essential. Candidates must hold a high school diploma or equivalent and be at least 21 years of age to qualify for the RSIC Vehicle Insurance Program. A valid State of Nevada Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with passenger and "S" endorsements is required, along with a good driving record verified through a DMV printout. Successful candidates must understand and implement policies, regulations, and safety guidelines while having experience in writing and updating such documents.Physical stamina is essential, as the role necessitates standing, walking, sitting, and the ability to lift up to 50 pounds. Strong communication skills and the ability to maintain confidentiality regarding personal information are crucial.
