Job description

Job Title: [VAL-013-003] Test Automation Developer/Engineer

Job Description:

Valytics LLC is seeking a detail-oriented Quality Assurance Automated Test Developer to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and executing automated test scripts using industry-leading tools and frameworks such as Selenium WebDriver. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to understand software requirements, translate manual test cases into automated scripts, and integrate them into continuous integration pipelines. Your expertise will ensure the delivery of high-quality software products by identifying defects, troubleshooting issues, and providing timely feedback throughout the software development lifecycle (SDLC). The ideal candidate will have a strong background in software testing methodologies, proficiency in scripting languages like Java or Python, and a passion for improving efficiency through automation. Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in an agile environment are essential to succeed in this role. Experience developing, integrating, and optimizing solutions using the Microsoft Power Platform, including Power Apps, Power BI, Power Automate, and Dataverse, to enhance business processes and data insights is a plus.

Key Responsibilities and Essential Job Duties:

  • Follow established standards and procedures to estimate and develop automated test scripts.
  • Trace requirements to the manual test cases and thoroughly comment automated code to point to the manual steps.
  • Review customer and functional tester comments and apply edits to the scripts – ensuring tests are created and executed correctly.
  • Develop and maintain automated test scripts using Selenium WebDriver for desktop and web applications.
  • Develop automated scripts for desktop, web and mobile applications.
  • Collaborate with functional testers to review and incorporate feedback into automated scripts, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
  • Manage automated testing efforts and defects throughout the defect lifecycle, leveraging enterprise testing tools effectively.
  • Develop automation solutions by leveraging UiPath and Power Automate to optimize workflows, automate repetitive tasks, and integrate systems, enhancing overall organizational productivity and efficiency.
  • Conduct thorough 508 compliance testing to ensure digital content and applications adhere to accessibility standards.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution
  • U.S. Citizenship and the ability to obtain a DHS security clearance
  • On-site requirement at our McLean, VA office – only candidates local to the DMV (DC Metro, Southern MD, Northern VA) will be considered
  • 3 – 5 years of experience in automation development using Selenium, with demonstrated proficiency in both automated and manual testing environments required
  • Experience with platform testing (popular platforms, operating systems, and cross-browser compatibility)
  • Proficient in Selenium WebDriver, Java, TestNG, CI/CD pipelines, Html, Regex
  • Experience with JIRA, MS Office, SQL, Selenium, SharePoint, Webex, and Confluence
  • Ability to communicate complex technical issues clearly in English
  • Understanding of testing methodology
  • Agile/Scrum Project experience
  • Experience in creating UiPath workflow automations and possessing a basic understanding of RPA development

Desired Qualifications:

  • Experience with, or certification in, Section 508 compliance testing
  • Experience with, or certification in, Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies
  • Experience with, or certification in, Microsoft Power Platform (Power BI, Power Automate, and Power Apps)
  • Experience with Robotic Process Automation (RPA)
