Test Engineer
South Metro | Contract to Hire | $30 - 45/hr

Konik is partnering with a local engineering and manufacturing firm seeking a Test Engineer. As a Test Engineer, you will lead the full lifecycle of mechanical, electrical, and integrated systems qualification testing. This includes developing tailored test procedures, executing tests in controlled environments, analyzing data, and preparing technical documentation. You'll play a key role in ensuring products meet mission-specific requirements, supporting design improvements, and collaborating across engineering teams.

Test Engineer Responsibilities:

  • Develop and tailor qualification procedures to align with military standards and mission profiles.
  • Design instrumentation setups and test fixtures for accurate, repeatable results.
  • Execute qualification testing (vibration, EMI/EMC, environmental, etc.) in certified facilities.
  • Collect, analyze, and report test data; provide actionable recommendations.
  • Troubleshoot and perform root cause analysis during test events.
  • Write, review, and update technical documentation, including plans, procedures, and reports.
  • Contribute to process improvements and test infrastructure upgrades.

Test Engineer Qualifications:

  • B.S. in Engineering, Science, or related technical field (or equivalent experience).
  • 3+ years of test engineering or related experience.
  • Knowledge of test methods such as environmental, vibration, shock, EMI/EMC, and human factors; ideal candidate will have experience in a remote test environment.
  • Ability to collaborate across engineering disciplines and communicate with customers.
  • Proficiency in data analysis, technical writing, and documentation tools (Microsoft Office, Acrobat).
  • Familiarity with collaboration platforms such as SharePoint and Teams.
  • Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
  • Willingness and ability to travel (up to 15%) for test events at partner or government facilities; this includes infrequent longer tests lasting up to 2-3 weeks
  • Eligibility for U.S. government security clearance (U.S. Person status required).
