Systems Engineer, Senior
The Opportunity:
Seeking a Senior Systems Engineer to translate complex satellite mission needs into technical specifications to support Agile design, development, integration and deployment of a mission management software for heterogeneous, proliferated satellite constellations. Your proven ability to lead systems engineering from requirements->development->test->production will be required to be successful executing this critical defense program.
As a Senior Systems Engineer, you will quickly define requirements to complex technical problems, scope program increments, define backlogs and sprints, develop architectural approaches, and help a great team develop critical satellite capability using high-velocity Agile development process in the system development life cycle. You will lead engineering product teams and ensure rigorous application of high-quality requirements analysis, development, testing, and cybersecurity. You will apply expert knowledge of systems engineering, technical leadership, and system accreditation processes, specifically focusing on the delivery of classified software to cloud-based infrastructures for satellite mission needs.

You Have:
  • 8+ years of experience in systems engineering for complex, cloud-based, or proliferated satellite systems
  • Experience as technical lead
  • Experience as a systems engineering leader, including delivering complex mission software and developing system architectures, requirements, interface definitions, system test plans, deployment plans, and training
  • Experience conducting test and evaluation of system performance and documentation of results
  • Experience with Model Based Systems Engineering
  • Experience with Modeling and Simulation
  • Experience with Agile, systems engineering, requirements management, increment planning, software design, system test planning, risk management, configuration management, and Cybersecurity
  • Ability to work onsite at an accredited SCIF/SAPF to support classified system integration
  • TS/SCI clearance
  • Bachelor's degree

Nice If You Have:
  • Experience with mission management or OPIR preferred
  • Experience as a cost account manager managing budgets for a team of 10+ engineers
  • Experience using Cameo or similar tool for MBSE
  • Experience with the Atlassian Tool Suite, including Jira for requirements and Confluence for data reporting
  • Experience with program protection and cybersecurity hardening, including High/Moderate security categorizations
  • Knowledge of Modular Open Systems Approach (MOSA) techniques
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Science, or Information Systems preferred; Master's degree a plus
  • Certified Systems Engineering Professional (CSEP) Certification

Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information; TS/SCI clearance is required.

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual's particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $86,800.00 to $198,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen's total compensation package for employees.
