AI/ML Engineer

The Opportunity:
Imagine using artificial intelligence (AI) to improve critical IT operations for integrated warfighting capabilities. As a DevOps engineer, you know how to create efficient and effective solutions so you can quickly deliver the best operational data. Booz Allen is the leading provider of AI services to the nation, and we're looking for a DevOps engineer with knowledge of AIOps, ML Ops, model ops, and data ops to develop tools and get them into the hands of those who need them most.

On our team, you'll streamline IT operations to enhance platform productivity to improve integrated warfighting capabilities including Agentic AI positioned as a critical enabler for next-gen autonomy and decision-support capabilities. Relate to AI enabled, policy controlled containerized application and data workload management and orchestration required for CDO-L and resilient capabilities.

As an experienced engineer, you know that building reliable and scalable AI systems requires strong software engineering practices, automation, and seamless integration across complex, secure environments. Your ability to design andmaintainrobust AI/ML pipelines, automate workflows, and integrate AI capabilities into production systems makes you an essential part of delivering resilient, mission-focused solutions. We need your technicalexpertiseand problemsolving mindset to support the development and operationalization of AI capabilities that directly enhance mission resilience, performance, and decisionmaking.

In this role,you'llguide the development of missioncritical AI solutions by building reproducible pipelines, applying automation best practices, and introducing emerging tools that enhance performance and reliability.You'llcollaborate with others including AI Model Engineers, Data Engineers, Cloud Architects, and ISSEs to align AI and ML workflows with infrastructure and security requirements, ensuring seamless integration into production and mission systems.You'llcontribute to solutions thatoptimizeresilience of warfighting capabilities including their data flows, operational workflow automation, workload environmental monitoring, workload management, and resilient mission execution across hybrid compute environments.

You Have:

  • 5+ years of experience in the development of tools and processes to drive DevOps or DevSecOps maturity by automating builds, testing, monitoring, and pushing releases across environments

  • 5+ years of experience with scripting languages such as Python or Linux Shell Script and configuration management tools

  • 5+ years of experience automating infrastructure provisioning, in the creation, and improvement of continuous automation across multiple technical stacks

  • 5+ years of experience with troubleshooting, triaging, and resolving issues with CI/CD pipeline failures or slowness, built using Kubernetes, Docker, or Jenkins

  • 5+ years of experience with AI/ML capabilities applied to policy controlled, workload management and orchestration including Zero Trust Containerized applications and data

  • 5+ years of experience with troubleshooting, triaging, and resolving issues related to both open source and commercial tools in public cloud environments

  • Experience with artificial intelligence and machine learning frameworks for monitoring and optimization and containerization and container orchestration platforms and tools

  • Experience adding testing and security scans to pipelines

  • Secret clearance

  • Bachelor's degree

Nice If You Have:

  • Experience with cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform

  • Experience integrating AI systems architecture, AI platforms, or ML flow

  • TS/SCI clearance

  • ML, DevOps, or solution architecture certification

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual's particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $77,500.00 to $176,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen's total compensation package for employees.
