Job description

UPMC is looking for a Systems Analyst Associate to join their team. This position will be a Hybrid role primarily remote however will at time require ON-SITE work.

Description
UPMC is seeking a Systems Analyst Associate to support the Epic Cupid (Cardiology) application. Under the general direction of management and senior IT leadership, this entry-level role provides analytical, technical, and operational support for cardiology systems and integrated clinical applications.

This position focuses on supporting day-to-day system functionality, assisting with application configuration, and contributing to initiatives that enhance cardiology workflows across the organization. The associate-level analyst will work closely with senior team members to develop knowledge of Epic Cupid functionality, clinical cardiology workflows, and system integrations.
Responsibilities:

  • Support the build, configuration, and maintenance of Epic Cupid, ensuring system design aligns with cardiology clinical and operational workflows (e.g., cath lab, echo, imaging).
  • Provide day-to-day application support by triaging, troubleshooting, and escalating issues while partnering with team members for resolution.
  • Collaborate with clinical and operational stakeholders to gather requirements, support workflow design, and contribute to system improvements.
  • Assist with testing activities, including developing and executing test plans for upgrades, enhancements, and implementations.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of system builds, workflows, and processes to support team knowledge and consistency.
  • Contribute to project work by completing assigned tasks, tracking progress, and supporting deliverables under the guidance of senior analysts.
  • Support system optimization efforts by identifying opportunities to improve workflows while balancing enterprise standards with department-specific needs.
  • Participate in training, reporting, and data validation activities to ensure system adoption, data integrity, and overall solution effectiveness.

Qualifications

Familiarity with modern technology and application support through education or practical experience

Clinical background in a hospital setting or healthcare IT experience required

Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize work in a fast-paced environment

Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team-based environment

Demonstrated understanding of IT fundamentals, including the System Development Life Cycle (SDLC)

Strong written and verbal communication skills

Highly motivated with a willingness to learn and grow within the role.

Additionally, this position may be required to maintain standby status as part of a rotation within the team. This requires 24 hours per day, 7 days per week availability during the standby period. The frequency varies based upon the number of colleagues in the rotation.
