As an Implementation Engineer, you will be responsible for integrating new products and engineering revisions into production manufacturing within a cross-functional, multi-disciplinary environment. Focused on maintaining accurate product lifecycle management (PLM) and ERP system data to support manufacturing excellence in safety, quality, delivery, and cost (SQDC). Collaborates closely with design engineering and production teams while promoting a culture of safety, innovation, and service.

Primary Responsibilities & Major Tasks: 

  • Execute manufacturing implementations of all new and revised products from Cedar Park internal engineering teams and other inter-company business partners within NOV. Typical activities include:
    • Populating and maintaining routers, bills of materials, and various ERP system fields for new and existing parts
    • Reviewing engineering workflows and ensuring successful Engineering Change Order (ECO) implementation in ERP system upon item release
  • Act as a liaison between Cedar Park Manufacturing and design owners for design deviations, clarification, Design-for-X assessments, and other support activities. Typical activities include:
    • Identifying and consulting with project stakeholders to resolve engineering specification deviations and submitting Engineering Change Requests (ECR) if necessary, including continuous improvement efforts to improve manufacturability of inter-company business products
    • Providing supply chain engineering support to Cedar Park Procurement by identifying supply chain risks and consulting with inter-company business partners to determine proper mitigation
  • Champion insourcing activity through data mining exercises to bring additional work to the Cedar Park facility as capacity constraints allow. Typical activities include:
    • Providing quoted router times and bills of materials to Cedar Park internal engineering teams and other inter-company business partners
    • Creating, releasing, and maintaining manufacturing specific documentation such as manufacturing or fabrication drawings, DXFs, label artwork files, and supplemental drawings to support internal production

Required Qualifications:

  • Education and Experience Qualifications
    • High school diploma or equivalent; preferably completed advance course work. 
    • Minimum of 3 years of experience in engineering or similar technical manufacturing role (Manufacturing Engineer, Mechanical Engineer, Manufacturing Engineering Technician, etc.)
  • Technical Competencies
    • Experience in reading and interpreting engineering drawings, specifications, and requirements.
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office and ability to learn different software programs as required.
    • Experience in design for manufacturing processes including machining, sheet metal fabrication, welding, and assembly.
    • Must demonstrate evidence of acceptable competence in analytical and systematic problem solving.
  • Behavioral Competencies
    • Strong communication skills (written and verbal).
    • Effective organization and time management.
    • Collaborative team player.
    • Commitment to quality and professionalism.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Siemens Teamcenter, JD Edwards ERP, and 3D CAD Modeling in SolidWorks or Creo experience.
  • Prior machining or machine shop implementation experience is strongly preferred.
  • Prior fabrication design or fabrication and weld shop implementation experience is strongly preferred.

This position will require 10% domestic travel to other NOV offices and customer locations.
