Job description

Who We Are:
We provide computer support for the Mechanical Engineering Division focusing on systems, storage, backups and networking. By joining our team, you will receive an additional $500 in your first paycheck, minus taxes.
Objectives of this Role:
  • Provide end-user support for Windows systems.
  • Install a variety of engineering and general purpose software for users.
  • Setup new computers and peripherals for users.

Daily and Monthly Responsibilities:
  • Support our division desktop/laptop systems with computer system maintenance, software installation, problem diagnosis/resolution, hardware deployments, and general support of Windows and MAC systems.
  • Perform both local and remote support as needed for hardware/software issues.
  • Work as a team member to provide excellent customer service to our division staff of approximately 400.
  • Deliver hardware and technical support throughout SwRI campus.

Requirements:
  • Requires a high school diploma or equivalent. IT support related coursework or certifications preferred.
  • 5+ years: General computer helpdesk experience. For those with an IT related Associate's degree, 4 years of work experience is required.
  • Must be detail-oriented, having outstanding communication skills (both written and verbal), and excellent at multi-tasking and problem-solving.
  • Should have ability to work independently in the absence of specific instructions on a number of tasks with a high degree of accuracy and have excellent organizational skills.
  • Familiarity with Desktop Central and Sentinel One desired.
  • A valid/clear driver's license is required.

Special Requirements:
Applicant selected will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Applicant must be a U.S. citizen.
